A Sneek Peek
We still won't have our professional wedding pictures for another 2 weeks, but they gave us our "Thank You" and "Just Married" pictures so that we could use them for our Thank You Cards. (We want to order them ASAP so we're not sending our Thank You's out too late!)
Anyway, we are so thrilled with the way they've turned out. We can't wait to see the rest! Here's a peek. ENJOY! xoxo M. |

mkpederson is MARRIED!
I'm Back from both the Wedding & Honeymoon!
Ladies, Ladies, Ladies!!!
I'm back! So sorry that I have been M.I.A. for soooooo long. Long story short, but right before the wedding was KRAZY AS HELL (as most of you know, or will get to know), but without getting TOO far into detail, let's just say that 3 weeks before the wedding, we went on a big family vacation to the Lake for 1 week...then came home and freakin' caught a strain from the ECOLAI VIRUS and was unbelievably sick for 1 whole week (this was 2 weeks before the wedding!)!!!!!!! As a result, all the last minute stuff never got done . . . and there we were 1 week before the wedding. It was mayhem. And unfortunately, 2 days before the wedding, my husband's (wow that's weird to say/type) grandma had a MASSIVE heart attack. =( She ended up in the hospital and was unable to make it to the wedding. We were heartbroken but she assured us that the show must go on. The wedding day went by as a complete blur. It was everything we could've asked for and more! I'm also happy to report that ALL OF OUR VENDORS were fabulous!! No trouble to report which we are soooooo ecstatic to say! The whole week leading up to the wedding, our wedding day called for rain. 2 days before the wedding, it said that there would be a rain storm in the morning, cloudy afternoon, and that the sun would come out in the late afternoon/evening. And no joke, it did exactly that! When we pulled up to the venue, everything started to clear!!! And without an exaggeration, as my Dad and I started to walk down the aisle, the sun came out!!!!!!! It was unbelievable!!!!!!!!! Santa must've come early this year! Anyway I will write more about the day when I get my pro-pics back from the photographer. Will also give my Vendor Report/Feedback, along with a list of TONS of stuff that I will be selling. Keep an eye out (i.e. Thank you parasol, just married parasol, 18 white silk parasols, 2 Victoria Secret Bride Hoodies (long sleeve & short sleeve) + Bride Tank, Damask Seating Chart Board, Wedding Jewelry, etc.)! Anyway, the next day was great, cause we got to wake up and go straight on our Honeymoon to Aruba! Words cannot even describe Aruba. WBC Brides, if you're contemplating Aruba, I am going to tell you to stop! Because it is absolutely Honeymooner's Paradise!!! We stayed 12 days and loved every minute of it! As for right now, enjoy a few non-pro pics of the Wedding and some of our fantabulous Honeymoon!!! xoxo |

3 of my Girls and I in my fabulous outfit. I had the coconut bra, the tiara and of course the Lei. They came to pick me up at my house! My sister (MOH) and my BM Esha in the backseat of my Jeep. Megs (my BM) driving my Jeep up into the country! Who knew? LOL. Me riding shotty with my tiara out the sunroof. Hahaha. Me reinacting the motions that I was making to all the semi's driving along the highway. I had to get vehicles with hot boys to honk for us. And I got bonus points for every emergency vehicle and semi that honked or ran their sirens. LOL. My sister, Megs and I at a gas station in the interior where I had to annouce to EVERYONE (and it was so busy there) that I was getting married and that I needed them to Honk at us if they saw us on the highway. Then the whole gas station started honking! |
STAGETTE #1:
They surprised me!
So I have to say that my BM's and MOH are absolutely amazing. They (only 4 of the 6 were able to make it because 1 lives in the UK and the other is working on the cruise ships right now) kidnapped me and took me to this AWESOME ranch up in the interior of BC.
One of my BM's, Meaghan, her family has this unbelievable ranch that sits on 150 acres. It was really fun and so relaxing! Just what I needed! I've got a few pics up, but unfortunately, WBC won't let me upload the rest. I will add them later. Less that 1 month to go! Can you believe that?!?!? xoxo |

We just got Luggage!!!
This post may seem silly to some, but my FH and I have never had luggage.
We've always had those large traveling backpacks with wheels. Well we received an extremely GENEROUS gift card from our Registry and bought our first official set of luggage! I'm soooooooooooo happy! We each ended up getting the "Heys 4wd" Luggage set! Heys is supposed to be the creator of the world's lightest luggage. It's got a polycarbonate shell (extremely durable) and also has "spinner" wheels on them so they can move in ANY direction!!!!!! I love it and am soooo happy! We laughed and joked tonight about how we're ready to become "Jet Setters". ARUBA here we come baby!!!!!!!!! |

Wedding Favors
We've finally decided on a favor.
We're going with the miniature vintage style candy jars. We ordered them online from www.accenttheparty.com. They've got a great selection of different items and their pricing is very reasonable! Since we needed to purchase 180 favors - it brought our price down to $0.86 each! The jars also come with personalized sticker labels (that you apply yourself). We're going with a white outter trim, black on the interior circle, and the chinese character/symbol that represents the word "Love". Figured this would be the only place that we could incorporate my asian heritage! LOL. Underneath it will say "Kyle and Melanie" in white, and under that, we've got "thank you", also in white. Similar to the picture. When they arrive, we'll stuff 'em with candy. Trying to decide what to do though. Since our colours are black and white, we were thinking of filling them with mints. Or what do you think of filling them with purple colored candies?!? HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!! What do you think? And lastly, what are you ladies doing for your favors? xoxo |

Thank You Parasol - Complete!
We did it! Actually, I can't take all the credit for it.
My wonderful sister (my MOH) helped me with it all. We bought a whole bunch of the silk parasols from Chinatown in Vancouver. She ended up going down there and bargaining with the store owners!! We bought 20 (because we're also going to use them to line the aisle during the ceremony), but I won't need that many. (see my previous post on parasols for more details). Well since we had some extras, we made a "Thank You" Parasol for our Thank You cards. We're going to attempt a "Just Married" Parasol the next time we have a chance. I have to say that my sister has been my life saver!! If you're looking to buy one and your wedding is in September 2009 or later, check back here, because I will sell them after the fact. (as long as they hold up and are still in tip-top shape of course). Let me know if you'd be interested. xoxo |

Bridal Shower
Survived my first one!
Oh how I had sooo much fun last Saturday night!
The girls & my Mom made it an "island theme" in honor of our Honeymoon to Aruba!!! Since we already have our own house and all the furnishings and things, we registered our Honeymoon on www.honeyfund.com (thanks to mikeandmel for this one!). As a result. I got a few actual gifts, but everyone ended up making a contribution to our Honeymoon Registry which is sooooooooo awesome! We all played a bunch of games...but best of all - the food! They went all out. Lots of island themed food, BUT the best part was they actually went to a Caribbean place and ordered some catering. Mmmmm yummy! To top it all off, my sister (my MOH) went over and beyond the call of duty. She MADE all the flower hair pieces for the girls. It was awesome. On top of that, my Grandmother completely surprised me. Not only did she make a really generous donation to our Honeyfund, but she gave me the most GORGEOUS pair of diamond earrings!!!!! I cried!!!! I've posted some pics. Can't wait for my next one!! =) |

BRIDAL SHOWER
This Saturday!
I can't believe how fast time is flying. I'm finally having my first "bride" type event! I am having 2 bridal showers - 1 with my side of the family and my friends (hosted by my MOH, BM's and Mom), and 1 with my FH's side of the family and their friends (hosted by FSIL and FMIL).
Well the one with my side of the family is this Saturday night!!!! I think things will be a little bit different, and know that things are difficult to plan for me because I work weirder hours than the normal person. I am in real estate development sales, so I work weekends, and get some weekdays off, but that doesn't help everybody else! So I'm having an evening shower. All I know is that it's an "island theme", but everything else is apparently top secret. I'm sooooo excited!!!!! I'm usually moreso the humble one that's always helping everybody else out, so it's hard for me to wrap my mind around the fact that all the attention will be on me!!! Great practice/warm-up for the big wedding day I suppose. LOL. I can't wait to see who's all coming! (they won't even tell me that either). Uuugh! xoxo |

JEWELRY
Got my wedding day bling . . .
I love it. Finally - things are falling into place!
After looking high and low without any luck... I found what I was looking for! I THINK it will look nice with the drop pendant as I've got the sweetheart neckline going on. What do you think of the pendant?!?! |

Wedding Hair Style
Just had my Hair Trial!
It was a success!
My FH's best friends' gf (sorry to be confusing) is an amazing hairdresser/stylist. She is doing my entire bridal party's hair for the wedding! She also got some lovely hair extensions for me! (I miss my long hair like krazy.) I went into her salon to just play around the other day, and she says "I'm just going to try a style that I envision you having on your wedding day." I said that I was totally game, and voila!!!!!! Don't mind the messyness - she literally did it in 20 mins! I never envisioned myself this way, but I absolutely love it - especially with my dress. So...it is basically a low up-do, but it's all curled and pinned up when the veil is on. When it's time for the reception and I change into my party dress...we'll take it down and it will be all curly! So I basically get 2 very easy convertible hair styles! Yipppeee! I also went and got some eyelash extensions done - what do you think? Too much for the big day?!?! |
