Ask a Question
Are you having Ushers and Hostesses??
Ok after talking some friends about my wedding the question came up about who is in our bridal party. Well we are having 3 bridesmaids (including 2 Matron of Honor) and 3 Groomsmen (including 1 Best Man), a flowergirl and ringbearer. HOWEVER, I totally forgot about having ushers, hostesses and candle lighter. Even though the wedding facility has almost everything covered, but I think I will need ushers and hostesses. Are you all have ushers and hostesses?? What is the role is a hostess?

I'm having an usher for the ceremony that will help people to their seats and help the DOC distributing programs etc.

Here is a website that answers some questions about wedding party duties (including that of a hostess)

My weddi8ng planner suggests that for every 50 guests you have (1) usher...so we have asked (3) we may need (4).

We are doubling our groomsmen as ushers...if its not enough then we may also ask a couple male cousins to help...they wouldnt be wearing tuxes...just shirts, ties, maybe a suit coat.  As for hostesses I don't know quite what you mean...greeter?  people to hand out programs?  I think thats probably what you mean..well for those we're having cousins or more distant friends who aren't in the wedding party.  We're not having candle lighters as far as I know except for the mother's candle...lit by our mothers.  If we do need candle lighters...maybe my Godmother and one of his aunts

We're having ushers. I wanted to include some of my male cousins but not as groomsmen since we were already having 6 attendents each (not including juniors, flower girl, and ring bearers) so we decided to have ushers.
