Okay... so now we are under 150 days until our big day. So time to get started on creating around 150 DIY Pocketfolds! I ordered all of our paper items including the pocketfolds from paperandmore.com.
These are the items I ordered: A7 Himalaya Rose Pink Metallic Pocket Folder Pink Azalea 81# Metallic Text Paper White 120# Cardstock Oynx Black 60# Cardstock I purchased the ribbons wholesale... and saved tons of $$$! When should the Bridal Shower take place?
Like 2 or 1 month before the wedding????
Just curious how long before the wedding are you ladies planning on having the shower. I know that the moms & bridal party usually do the planning, but they are asking for my input on the date? My wedding in on SEPT 27 2009... so any advice ladies? Also anyone have any theme ideas to go with Pink & Black?

Are you seeing the Groom prior before ceremony for pictures?
I have noticed that a lot more people are doing this in order to get the most possible photographs out of the day. I am actually now considering doing it! Shhh... just don't tell our parents! lol The photographers we've met with say that this is the best way to do things if you wouldn't want to miss 1 to 1 1/2 hours of your own reception! He said that he scopes out the area to find a romantic setting for where they will first meet (He showed me photos of other couples and.... WOW!!1 very lovely!) What do you guys think??? Any of u doing this?

We booked our Wedding Location!
okay..... so the date is set!!!! and we will be married on a Sunday as we were planning and the date will beeeeeee......................... September 27, 2009! yay!!! I am soo happy that we have our venue booked. We were looking for a place that would offer an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception with the catering onsite. And after a couple of months of searching high and low we found our place! I actually attended TWO weddings here when I was much younger around 12 yrs old...lol It has an outdoor gazebo on a lake and mannnnny reception rooms about 7 total. We booked the largest room they had available, the Lakeside room it can hold 500 people seated... but thank goodness we will only need about 250 seats (we could fill it alone with my FH's side of the family! but we have had to cut back on the guest list) The room has these great big windows that gives view of the lake... very romantic setting. It was one of the first locations that we visited and we both knew that it was probably going to be our location, but we continued to shop around just to make certain. The prices are the best we have found also. Ooo... another plus the per person price includes the cake! : ) Tell me what you think....??? Sorry I didn't get any good pictures from the reception room.
QUESTION.... since our date is in Sept I am certain it will be warm still (Southern California) our ceremony will prob be around 5 in the afternoon.... do you think we should get a tent for where the guest will sit to help block the sun and keep them dry??? sugguestions? do you think it will interfere with the scenery?? |

Sunday Wedding???
what do you think?
Okay, so I always thought that we would have our wedding on a Saturday.... but all the locations that we have visited have offered us up to 30% off our package if we go with a Sunday or Friday date. That would save us on average of $2000 bucks! And I am defiantely a bride on a budget!! : ) I know that Friday would definately not work with us... but Sunday actually sounds good. It might work out better for the guest who usually work on Saturdays (we have quite a few), but what do you think about a Sunday?

About booking your ceremony & reception...
Okay so we have been engaged for almost 2 months, not long, but I'm starting to feel a bit of pressure. Its been a challenge finding a location that offers an outside ceremony site and reception location that doesnt cost an arm and a leg, and accomodates a large amount of people. We would like to be married by next September, but we still dont have a place and therefore can't start all the detailed planning (which I LOVE!). Just curious how long it took you guys to find a place after you got engaged??
*oh and does anyone know of an affordable place in the southern California region??? |

We're Engaged!
Well... this is my first wedding blog... but also my first time blogging ever! : ) So me and my fiance met in high school we dated for almost five years and we both knew that we found our soulmates in eachother! So we started the hunt for my ring. I really didn't know exactly what I wanted, so it was a bit overwhelming when we went shopping the first time. But when I tried on my ring... I melted! It was it! I didn't know when he would propose.... I thought maybe my birthday, or christmas... new years... or valentines day (which is our anniversary). He is in a band, and they always have gigs and of course I'm a groupie! You can usually find us groupies selling tickets, CDs or running around the concerts. This time I was selling tickets at the door with my girls. Then I hear them calling me up to the stage (which I thought they needed CDs or something) so I am walking up to the stage and then his brother says "My brother has something to say!" When I heard those words my stomach sank! AHHHHH!!! this was it!!!!!! So then he asked in front of everyone! 9-27-08 HAPPIEST DAY of my LIFE.... so far ; )
