DIY Wedding
Our Big Day! 10 years :D
OK..so our big day has come and went! So much has happened since my last post. 2 weeks before our 10 year anniversary/vow renewal... 6 days of that was spent in the hospital. My Hub was having head pain and they found a cyst in between his skull and his brain. So u can only imagine how stressful that was but with steroid treatments and a lot of praying. Surgery was not needed :) Then it was a mad dash to finish up everything for Our Renewal in time!!!
The main last minute things was the switch from the alter to the gazebo. With the temperatures in the 100 plus, we needed more shade even with the ceremony begin at sunset. The pictures came out fantastic and the guest were happy to not be sweating in the sun..lol. My last minute DIY: FLOWER BOUQUETS: Orange and cream flowers were ordered from Costco..right to my door in the morning on the date I selected. PERFECT. It gave me plenty of time to dethorn and cut them and then they chilled in the fridge. The quality of the roses were GREAT! 100 orange and 50 cream was plenty of flowers. I did my bouquet, the toss and 3 bridesmaids, petals for the ceremony, reception and flower girl basket, 4 boutonnieres and roses for the centerpieces!! I did add a few sprigs of the green hydrangeas that were faux, to our bouquets..with to my surprise..NO ONE NOTICED! I couldn't find the right color green (to tie the bridal party colors together) online (they had to be special ordered) and I was scared to order and get the wrong color so...I in a mad dash I found them...and easily :D SIGNAGE: "Here comes The Bride" sign for one of my boys. They each wanted to carry something so..bam! Their wish was granted :D BOW TIES: The boys Orange bow ties which cost me only $2.50 for the fabric to make 3 bow ties... versus the $14.00 per bow tie at a children's store in the mall!! BROOCH: The brooch for my cake topper was killing me! I could not find anything that was appealing to me to bedazzle my cake. Until I found a fabulous pair of earrings. With a fascinator, a little hot glue and some super glue to be extra cautious that it wouldn't fall apart, I turned an earring into my brooch. TABLE NUMBERS: We had enough tables to do the names of them by the years that my Husband and I have been married! I did each one with a picture of us from that year! The guests noticed it and were traveling around the room to check out what we looked like "way back when"..:D Floating Unity Candle Set: Was a tall vase I got from the dollar store with a custom decal that I had purchased..total.. $4.00 including the floating candle. The two taper candles I bought and then added 2 layers of pearls and in the middle a layer of tiny rhinestones then I set then upon glass candle stick holders...total..$5.00. Plus my favors, the girls hair fascinators, menu cards, bar menu, and much more but this is all that's coming to me right now. My DRESS was a HIT!! Everyone keeps saying how beautiful was dress was and how I looked wonderful in it :D The night went so WELL and nobody was familiar with our venue and we kept getting compliments on how beautiful everything looked. The food was excellent and the bartender was amazing and our DJ keep the night flowing!!! WBC...Thanks everyone for ur input and helping make my day so special :D |

Wedding Dress
My dress is in!
Yay! So excited and I can say..very pleased :D I had initially went to Alfred Angelo and had feel in love with this gown. The kicker..it was only $800 but I just couldn't let myself spend that much on something I won't be wearing again. After a little research, I decided to take the plunge.... and by online. I used inweddingdress.com and it was only $271.00 (not including shipping) and I paid the extra $10 to add a corset back to it and then another $10 for the bustle. There was a web coupon which took away $10 so yay. |

Ask a Question
Fresh AND Faux Flowers together??
Ok..so, I'm double pricing my flowers and I want MORE green hydrangeas then my budget can handle!! I have found some nice looking faux ones but..I dunno. Should I mix fresh flowers with fake ones??? They wouldn't be in center pieces but on the cake table and mixed in with the ceremony decor. What do u guys think? Or is that too tacky?? |

Reception Menu..What sounds good??
![]() Went to my venue and got some pics of the reception area. I had to pick up my forms to fill out for the menu selections and DJ song list. We are having a buffet style dinner so we get:Two Entrees,Three Accompaniments, Two Salads and then the Fresh Baked Rolls with Butter. We get to sample our final decisions but there are so many options! My man and I have picked the other items however the beef and chicken options are DIFFICULT! We get one of each of beef and chicken. We have narrowed it down to these choices BUT I was wanting some other opinions on what sounds YUMMY :) BEEF TRI TIP - Beef tri tip seasoned with fine spices and slowly roasted for tenderness (Carving Station) PRIME RIB - Prime Rib of Beef seasoned with rosemary and served with creamy horseradish and au jus ( Carving Station) CHICKEN ANGELO - Sautéed chicken breast with roasted peppers, mushrooms, artichokes and a lemon herb butter sauce CHICKEN AL LIMONE - Pan roasted chicken breast with lemon, garlic, mushrooms, in a wine sauce STUFFED CHICKEN WITH MUSHROOMS AND RISOTTO served with a velvet butter sauce |

Possible venue CHANGE!
![]() Oh my word! Somebody smack me!! I've been having the toughest time thinking if I made the right choice for our venue or not. I LOVE my plans for our winery renewal but..We live in Las Vegas and so its about a 4 hour drive (one way) to Temecula, Ca to the winery. I keep thinking about our guest list and how a BIG chunk of our guests live in Las Vegas and I just feel like I'm forcing everyone to spend money (on gas and hotel stays) to spend our special day with us. |

I THINK I've decided...
![]() I LOVE this presentation for a wine bottle as a favor! I 'm thinking of having them in the burlap bags with something sweet printed on it and a pretty bow :D I'm still undecided on small bottles or regular size bottles from our venue winery. |
