OK..so our big day has come and went! So much has happened since my last post. 2 weeks before our 10 year anniversary/vow renewal... 6 days of that was spent in the hospital. My Hub was having head pain and they found a cyst in between his skull and his brain. So u can only imagine how stressful that was but with steroid treatments and a lot of praying. Surgery was not needed :) Then it was a mad dash to finish up everything for Our Renewal in time!!!
The main last minute things was the switch from the alter to the gazebo. With the temperatures in the 100 plus, we needed more shade even with the ceremony begin at sunset. The pictures came out fantastic and the guest were happy to not be sweating in the sun..lol.
My last minute DIY:
FLOWER BOUQUETS:
Orange and cream flowers were ordered from Costco..right to my door in the morning on the date I selected. PERFECT. It gave me plenty of time to dethorn and cut them and then they chilled in the fridge. The quality of the roses were GREAT! 100 orange and 50 cream was plenty of flowers. I did my bouquet, the toss and 3 bridesmaids, petals for the ceremony, reception and flower girl basket, 4 boutonnieres and roses for the centerpieces!!
I did add a few sprigs of the green hydrangeas that were faux, to our bouquets..with to my surprise..NO ONE NOTICED! I couldn't find the right color green (to tie the bridal party colors together) online (they had to be special ordered) and I was scared to order and get the wrong color so...I in a mad dash I found them...and easily :D
SIGNAGE:
"Here comes The Bride" sign for one of my boys. They each wanted to carry something so..bam! Their wish was granted :D
BOW TIES:
The boys Orange bow ties which cost me only $2.50 for the fabric to make 3 bow ties... versus the $14.00 per bow tie at a children's store in the mall!!
BROOCH:
The brooch for my cake topper was killing me! I could not find anything that was appealing to me to bedazzle my cake. Until I found a fabulous pair of earrings. With a fascinator, a little hot glue and some super glue to be extra cautious that it wouldn't fall apart, I turned an earring into my brooch.
TABLE NUMBERS:
We had enough tables to do the names of them by the years that my Husband and I have been married! I did each one with a picture of us from that year! The guests noticed it and were traveling around the room to check out what we looked like "way back when"..:D
Floating Unity Candle Set:
Was a tall vase I got from the dollar store with a custom decal that I had purchased..total.. $4.00 including the floating candle.
The two taper candles I bought and then added 2 layers of pearls and in the middle a layer of tiny rhinestones then I set then upon glass candle stick holders...total..$5.00.
Plus my favors, the girls hair fascinators, menu cards, bar menu, and much more but this is all that's coming to me right now.
My DRESS was a HIT!! Everyone keeps saying how beautiful was dress was and how I looked wonderful in it :D
The night went so WELL and nobody was familiar with our venue and we kept getting compliments on how beautiful everything looked. The food was excellent and the bartender was amazing and our DJ keep the night flowing!!!
WBC...Thanks everyone for ur input and helping make my day so special :D
