The Aloof Wedding Date

Our wedding date has changed more times in the past year than my hairstyle has in my entire life (and that's a lot!).

We've gone from getting married in June and having a reception a few days later to getting married in Mexico and still having the reception a few days later, to getting married in Mexico and renewing our vows+reception TWO YEARS later and back again to getting married in June and having our reception a few days later.

Who's the culprit? Our finances. Really, we aren't in terrible shape. I have two student loans and some credit card debt.. a total of $4,000 at the most. But my fiance grew up living out of motels and moving constantly because his parents were VERY poor so he's extremely worried of going further into debt, which is completely understandable. However, I'm SICK of postponing this wedding!

We called our reception venue to see if we could move the date to 2012 but since we've already moved it once they decided not to let us do so again. We figured out that our reception is going to cost around $10,000 and we're splitting the cost with my parents, so that's $5,000 that we will have to pay for. We figured with saving for the next 6 months + our tax returns we'll have enough to pay for our portion.

So yeah! Part of me will be so glad when this is over with. *sigh*
