I Love Vintage Finds

I just posted about the vintage etched glasses that will serve as favors at our reception and it reminded me of another vintage item I found for our reception.

I love the look of the birdcage card holders, but I just couldn't see myself spending $40 on something I'll have no use for after the reception. Then a few months back I was browsing an antique store with my mother and came across this perfect birdcage for only $19!

It opens by a latch in the front, plus, it's not traditional white, it's ivory which is closer to my dress color. I'm absolutely in love with it. I plan to decorate it with some colored ribbon and possibly some painted butterflies and a "Cards" sign on the front. :)

oh I love it! I've been searching our antique stores for a pretty one, the only one I've liked was $150. I can't justify spending that much on a card holder :)

I also used a birdcage for a card box :) You can even put rose petals and little feathers inside...

another idea is I found these gorgeous little doves at michaels... a male and female... the I put them together on the top of the cage.

what a gorgeous find! I love the vintage stuff! I've been browsing antique stores but they are so expensive! I find I'm better off searching the yard sales! Great find. :)

I LOVE these.  I am still hoping to get some for our wedding.  We were thinking of putting candles in them.  Great find!
