So I found a new DIY project--that is if I can find the perfect materials.

So we were talking today about the cake and the cake topper came up. My FH is dead set on having our inital on top--and since I ♥ that idea I decided to try and make it since I have such a long time till the wedding I think I can knock it out...because the ones I've seen are great looking but the style of the letter I dont really like--so I will just have to create my own. But after reading fabulousmrsklein's blog about her cake topper--now I'm not so sure. But I am going to try and if all else fails I will just have to buy them already made.

So the hunt is one for the perfect letter as well as the pink crystals to put on it. Here are some pictures that inspired me (side from fabulousmrsklein's blog).

So yesterday I went down to LA and bought everything I needed (at whole sale prices) and I spent about $200 on almost everything I needed.

What I bought:
?Tulle--enough for the church (pews and bows), reception (decorate the stars leading up to the reception site)



?Tulle circles (for my favors)


?Vases and other items needed for my centerpieces (except the flowers)



I bought these to put inside the vases
?The knife set and all the things needed to decorate them



I bought them plain--but will decorate them to match my wedding--since I couldnt find any that I really liked!
?Cake monogram and crystal to decorate it
?Champagne glasses for wedding party



I bought the wedding party plain glasses but will have them engraved later on.

After a whole day shopping in LA I am super excited and only wish the wedding was closer....but until then I have alot of little projects to get my through the year (hopefully)

Me and my FH thought it be nice to create a signature drink—something that relates to our wedding and us. I was wondering if anyone else is doing this? If so how did you decide what you’d put in it and what too call it??






I definitely want to make ours pink (of course) how I’m not quite sure what to put in it!! Still in the thinking process!!

So I really wanted to make my own monogram....and played around with a few ideas. This week has been so crazy--I bought this software from bestbuy that looks like it will wrok but havent had time to install it. My step-father passed away this week and I havent been all that involved in wedding plans. However tonite I finally sat down and popped some monograms out....what do you guys think?? Hopefully once I install the new program I can make some better ones. I ♥ the last one.....

So I finally found the PERFECT reception site--and we booked it!! :) With on big thing half ways paid off--its such a relief off my shoulders!!! It has big beautiful mirrors along the side--huge dance floor--and I just love it!!

Ok so after about a month on this site and seeing all the amazing things all the other brides have made--I decided to make my own DIY list--and I have alot on my list but am so excited to start.

So today I went to Michael's craft store (after dying to go for about a week already--and finally talk my sister into going with me). Walking in I could already feel my mind running into a hundred directions. My first target was looking for a paper to do place cards, table numbers, and other printing on--no luck :(

Then I decided to focus on two projects that have been on my mind for about a week--the hanging monogram and centerpeices.

I bought all the supplies and headed to the wholesale flower shop to buy some flowers then home........wish me luck and I'll post pictures after I am finished!!

I stayed up late last night doing these too projects & I ? them!! Here are the pictures......be honest--how did they come out?? I ? them--for them being my 1st diy projects (ever) i think I did an ok job.......now I'm SUPER excited:)

With my wedding a year away—I’ve started with a lot of little projects and planning already! We have almost everything booked—excepted a cake but I wasn’t considering getting a wedding planner—but my FI seems to believe that I should look into getting one—because he thinks it will start to be a lot on my shoulders as the date gets closer! I was wondering how many people are actually having wedding planners and what was the deciding factor—for you—to hire one? For those of you who didn’t hire one—why not? I’m personally on the fence about this issue!! I’d love to hear everyone’s opinions!!

I've finally took on the task of asking each member of my wedding party to be apart of our special day. However I wanted a different and unique way of asking them, so I am on a mission to find such a way? I've seen the cards; which are cute and I have decided to make my own (on of my DIY projects), I'm planning on ask them (all in a group) our for a sunday brunch and I will present them with the cards. Hopefully they say yes! I'll pose pictures of my DIY cards later on today!!

I was just wondering how everyone else asked thier bridesmaids and maids of honors if they'd be in thier wedding party?

I finally found the bridesmaids dresses! Since I love all four of them--I've decided (thanks to other brides opinion) to have my bridesmaids wear any style (of the four) just in the same color (watermelon).

They will also have tulle exposed at the bottom of the dresses (the last picture is an example) also the dressed might be shortened (we are not 100% sure yet!!)

Are your bridesmaids wearing the same dress?? Or are you having them wear different dresses just in the same color pallette??

I was thinking of having my Bridesmaids were different dresses just in same color scheme.....I'm jus wondering what everyone else is doing....

I seen a lot of blog’s about budgets…..I have to admit we don’t have one!! And I don’t mean that anything goes; we do have a limit—nothing outrageous like $5,00 for flowers but what we feel is descent…….is anyone else like this or does everyone have a set budget.

As we searched for reception sites we found that the site alone was (for example) $300 an hour but that didn’t include nothing. Food was about $17.00 per person; alcohol was $25.00 per person and that all adds up…after we walked bout we were looking at $13,000 (approx.) just for reception site, food and alcohol.

To me that’s outrageous!! However the site we booked is wonderful (a steal actually) however I’ve down a lot of shopping around and even found flowers within a reasonable amount.

How hard is it to pick your wedding colors----if your like me--going back and fourth hundreds of times! First it was tiffany blue and brown then I changed my mind to pink and orange, then Coco brown with ivory accents....so many choices!!!


Finally, I decided on pink--all shades of pink!! What can i say--its my fav. color!! I love it--its girls and totally fits me to the "T"!!!

So after 3 years together; he asked me to marry him!! And of course I said yes!! I had a feeling he was going to ask...but I didnt realize that he was going to ask on my birthday! Was I upset he took away from my birthday--HECK NO--it was the best birthday present ever!!!

(My birthday was in October--but I wanted to start with the propsal before I added all the wedding details)
