Wedding Budget
I've found my solution!

So the other day I posted that the whole planning process was getting to be too much for me. FH and I talked and we decided to just limit our guest list to about 85 (including us and our bridal party) and have it at a smaller venue.

I am completely happy with this and feel even more at ease! Plus doing it this way we can move the date up even more and splurge for other things like our honeymoon and new furniture lol.

Now i'm just researching more intimate venues around us and I think I have found one that would be perfect! It's the Prairie Avenue Gallery (formerly The Keith House) in a historic district in Chicago. It is even near a beautiful park with a great fountain and old trees for us to take pictures. I just emailed and called the coordinator there and hopefully she calls me back in the morning.

Really happy that I made the decision to cut the list down and minimize alot of things. I know alot of people will be upset, especially since I won't be inviting anyone under the age of 18 so alot of my cousins and 2nd cousins won't be invited. The only underage people who will be there will be my 9 year old sister and my two boys who will be 2 and 1 at the time and their babysitter will pick them up after the ceremony. So if people are upset, I at least hope that they will understand and still come and support us anyway. If not oh well, the nuptials will still happen! Lol

Now I'm trying to convince myself to not add blue to our colors. But black, purple and blue sounds really pretty right about now lol

Yay! I'm so glad that you both came to a decision you are happy with. Communication is key. Things tend to work out best when you and your FH can agree on the big stuff. I'm so happy for you. Hopefully now you can find a place you can fall in love with and have fun.

Hopefully people will understand your situation and not give you too much of a hard time. The adults only party sounds like a great idea! Again, if people really support you they will understand. Good luck planning!

I totally understand about the small guest list. I don't want to go over 80 ppl.  Sounds good about no one under 18. Hope you get good news from the place!

Congrats! Im in the Chicagoland area too! LOL Were planning a small wedding also. It took a while for me to find a venue and ironically the place I thought would be the most expensive turned out to work for us. Were in Aurora and wanted to stay relatively local. I have to keep telling myself that this day is about me and my fiance only. The smaller the better :) That way hopefully the people there really care about your love.

Thanks everyone, I feel really comfortable in my decision and now I'm even more excited! The only problem is the venue I want is up for sale so she is only booking weddings until September of this year unless they aren't any bids on the place. I'm still going to keep them in mind and call back in September, but i'm still looking for places, maybe another old historical house.
