Is 9600 to much for the venue

I don't think that's too much based on your budget. Besides, it includes a lot. Most people are going to end up spending that anyway if they do everything separately. Do you love it? If so, I think it will be okay considering you will still have almost 15000 left in your budget.

holy crap...$25000 if only I had that much lol.  Call around to different venues to see what they charge and what is included in the charge.  If you take into consideration that most venues can cost a good couple thousand bucks along with an open bar which can be very expensive ($4000) and this includes all the decorations and everything it probably isn't a bad deal...but there brides out there who can probably give better insight.  Just make sure you try out the food, see the decorations, find out exactly what and how many flower arrangements are included, taste the cake and ask what it looks like, etc.

I do not think that it is too much. We are looking at 10k the vune, food, premium bar, linens, china, ceremony, and a night in the hotel. According to books, and my coordinator, you are supposed to plan on spending between 45 and 50% of your entire budget on the reception. Keep me updated, I am interested because I think my number is going to go up, depending on the number of attendees (I think more than we counted on are coming), so I will get closer, but not quite to 45% of my budget.

that sounds like a good deal to me..if everything is up to your standards then why not..im paying 11,000 for 75 people and i have to buy my own flowers...

My venue is $8,000 for 150 people which includes everything and my budget is $18,000. Most venues in my area was 10,000-15,000, so I think we got a good deal, $9,600 is not bad.
