The Proposal
A Romantic Proposal in the Boston Public Garden
Boston is a very special place to the both of us, as individuals and as a couple. We were both working in Boston when we met, it's the location of our first date and we have so many other wonderful memories there, so it's pretty obvious that he would choose Boston as the place to propose.
A few years ago we tried to take some pictures of us in the Boston Public Garden but they came out terrible, so he convinced me that since we'll be in the city we should try to retake them. Rain was in the forecast but the weather seemed to hold out the whole drive down to Boston...until we parked our car and exited the garage...it was POURING! He somehow managed to convince me to venture over to the Public Garden in the rain (thankfully he brought an umbrella) and we stopped underneath a willow tree. He handed me a letter that said how much I meant to him and how much he loves our life together and when I finished reading it, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I screamed "Yes! Of course I will!" He had made dinner reservations at Mistral, a French bistro that I have been wanting to try for years. We were seated in a romantic corner booth and the waitress brought over congratulatory champagne...and proceeded to spill both glasses all over me! I couldn't believe it, but thankfully for her, I had a diamond on my finger and I wouldn't let ANYTHING ruin my night, so I just laughed it off. Needless to say, all of our drinks and dessert were free for the night! After dinner, we walked over to one of my favorite bars, Whiskey Park, which is located in the Park Plaza Hotel. While walking past the lobby, he said "Do you want to check into our room now or wait until after drinks?" I said "Ha Ha, you're so funny"......but he was serious! He reserved a room for us at the Park Plaza Hotel! His proposal was more romantic and thoughtful that I could have ever imagined...I am so lucky that he picked ME to spend his life with! |
