Updates! Honeymoon Booked! and...
We received our first gift!
It's been a while dolls! I've been so busy planning the wedding and it's been driving me to drink (literally...and I'm not really a drinker). LOL!!! Needless to say, progress is going well.
We've booked her honeymoon! We are going to Las Terrenas which is in Samana, Dominican Republic. We are set to leave two days after the wedding. I can't wait for the relaxation. I've been trying to get my FH up to speed on his Spanish. I probably will be doing most of the talking at the resort. LOL!!! Its so many exciting things going on. We got our first wedding gifts (from off of our registry) in the mail yesterday! We received a coffee maker and a cast iron skillet. I can't wait to use both of them. My bridal shower was supposed to be a surprise, but I'm an A-type personality that likes to be in charge, so my mom spilled the beans and told me that it will be on April 28th. She said that "I'm sickening and no one can keep a secret from me". *teehee* I can't wait to see what they have in store for me. This weekend I'm doing centerpiece trials. Everything is moving so quickly, yet but so slowly. If that makes any sense. *shrugs* I can't wait for this day to get here!!!! Until later... be blessed! XoXo |

I Should've Just Listened to my WBC Friends
Hey Dolls... I should've just listened when you told me not to stress to bumps along my wedding planning journey because things are finally starting to come together!!!
After talking to family & friends, we have decided to have out ceremony at the original location, and just cut back on the guest list. We will invite 75 guests to share and initmate ceremony, and see the rest of them at the reception. We also finally have our officiant. We knew that my FH's uncle was going to marry us, but he never gave us the confirmation. Finally, we have confirmation and we will meet with him this weekend. Also this weekend, I have planned a DIY party. My mom, grandmom, aunt, sisters and a few friends are getting together to help me knock out some of the DIY projects I have left. I going to woo them with food and drinks ;) . I will take lots of pictures to share because I know it's going to get messy! With all this being said, I want to thank you all for your kind words and encouragement. I should've just listened in the first place. Until next time... take care! XOXO |

Wedding Reception
Our Caterer is Awesome!
This past Friday we went and has a tasting with our caterer. Needless to say we are very pleased! They were more than accomidating, threw in a few extras for FREE, and did I mention... their food was the bomb.com!!! I'm so excited and very pleased. Plus they are not going to charge us fortune. We got a really great deal. Woo! At least something in this wedding planning process is going right. :)
Oh yea, and check out my wedding bracelets. I love 'em! I actually have 2 more bangles coming. I probably won't wear them all, but they were just so pretty that I wanted to try them all out with my dress. Welp, until later dolls... Be blessed! xoxo, Mere |

99 Days Until Our Big Day!
Ooo It's scary. We are no longer in the triple digits and now only have 99 days left until our wedding. I'M STRESSED! LOL
We still do not have a ceremony location. This is the main issue that concerns me. We went to look at the other option DNREC advised, but it just wasn't right. I want my old location back. :( I need to get these invitations out ASAP, but I have to have a location first! I guess I'm going to just have to get married in a church, which I really didn't want to do. On the up-side, everything else is coming together. Most of the wedding party's attire is complete. I scheduled a DIY party on Feb. 25th for bridesmaids, mom, grandmom, aunt, and best friends to come help me with some of my DIY projects. This should be fun. I just can't believe we only have 99 days left. I"ve posted some pics of things that I have been working on or completed. Until later, take care dolls. XoXo |

Emotional Support Please!
Call From Our Ceremony Location This Morning
Hey Dolls... I'm not in a good mood today. I just received a call from Parks & Recreation. They stated that their capacity for the location we had chosen for our ceremony has changed as of Jan. 1, 2012. They said instead of allowing our 150 guests at the location, the new guidelines only allow 75 guests. I asked "Well since we sent our application and check in last year (2011) why wouldn't we still be able to have our wedding there?"
She stated "Since the event is occur in 2012, we have to go by the 2012 guidelines". She did suggest another location, which I'm not too fond of, that could accomadate all our guests. It doesn't have the same appeal, as our first location had a fountain and beautiful architecture and the nature aspects that I was looking for. I sent the application for our location back in September. Now they want more money and a totally different location. Needless to say, I am pissed, hurt, sad, disappointed, disheartened, and bawling with tears right now. We only have 135 days left to find a new location, and we have to find it before February because the invites have to go out then. This really sucks. My vision is ruined and I just want to give up. |

Ask a Question
Is it fair to do our registry ... Solo?
I love shopping!!!! I find it be an out-of-body experience every time. (LOL... ok I'm exaggerating). My fiance', on the other hand, absolutely hates shopping! To be honest, I kind of hate shopping with him because he brings down my retail high. Shopping with him is usually not as pleasurable as if I were shopping alone.
So, I am wondering... would it be fair to me do our wedding registry alone? Of course I will ask him if there is anything he would like to have on there, but to spare his misery and my sanity, I was thinking about doing our registry solo or with one of my bridesmaids or girl friends. How rude is that? TTYL, XoXo |

VistaPrint... again. I Racked Up!
Hey Dolls... VistaPrint is having their "End of Year Blow-out" and I had to share with you the fact that I ... RACKED UP!!! I only paid $23.77 for a lot of stuff.
-250 business cards that I will use on as Wishing Tree Tags (just add a hole and ribbon) The guest can write on the back, I have a poem on the front. -140 Return address labels -A Banner for my Bachelorette Party -10 Thank You Cards (hey you always need those!) -25 Magnets for my Bacheloretter Party to go in the goodie bags -A Poster for our wedding (I'll put in somewhere) I may have forgotten something, but anywho...Most of the items were free. I customized one item for $4.99 and the $18.78 leftover was for the shipping costs. I saved over $100!!! Maybe some of my ideas will be of benefit to some of you other brides as well. This is why I had to share. Until next time... Happy planning and take care. :) XoXo |

Shoutout to the Christmas Tree Shop
Hey Dolls! Its been a long time. I just had to share this deal with you. In our Sunday paper I saw that The Christmas Tree Shop had 13" charger plates on sale for $1, and since I'm on their email list, I got a coupon yesterday for 20% off your entire purchase! Can you say "WINNING!!!"?
So, I took my behind to The Christmas Tree Shop yesterday and purchased 150 silver chargers. The total came to 129.74 (I brought a coffee cup too ^_^ ). I had a total savings of $105.60. You can't beat that. I was surprised they had so many charger plates in stock. It must have been about 500 of each color (green, silver, gold, red, & a light blue color). With all this being said, sign up for The Christmas Tree emails, print out your 20% off coupon (which expires 11/15) and go get your charger plates if you need them for your reception. Take Care Dolls! XoXo |

Outdoor Ceremony Dilemma
How to handle the
I'm having an outdoor ceremony, and I refuse to change that as this has always been my dream. The only issue is that I keep having visions of muddy heels and heels sinking into the ground.
I've think I found an answer to this problem for my bridesmaids and I (SoleMates http://thesolemates.com/our-products/) , but I just can't see myself investing in heel protectors for my guests. Should I put a note in my invitation to advise them that the ceremony will be in the grass and they should be weary of the type of shoes they wear? Is that tacky? What would be a proper way of stating that? What if I put the basket of flipflops out at the ceremony instead of waiting to set them out at the reception? That way they could use the flip flops for the ceremony and reception. I'm so confused as to how to solve this issue. I'm trying to be mindful of my guest and I'm tried of having visions of muddy heels. *makes my skin crawl* LOL Help me out WBC loves... please! Oh yea, and the option of "no heels" is not an option for me. I have to have my heels and so does my wedding party. |
