Call From Our Ceremony Location This Morning

Hey Dolls... I'm not in a good mood today. I just received a call from Parks & Recreation. They stated that their capacity for the location we had chosen for our ceremony has changed as of Jan. 1, 2012. They said instead of allowing our 150 guests at the location, the new guidelines only allow 75 guests. I asked "Well since we sent our application and check in last year (2011) why wouldn't we still be able to have our wedding there?"

She stated "Since the event is occur in 2012, we have to go by the 2012 guidelines". She did suggest another location, which I'm not too fond of, that could accomadate all our guests. It doesn't have the same appeal, as our first location had a fountain and beautiful architecture and the nature aspects that I was looking for.

I sent the application for our location back in September. Now they want more money and a totally different location. Needless to say, I am pissed, hurt, sad, disappointed, disheartened, and bawling with tears right now.

We only have 135 days left to find a new location, and we have to find it before February because the invites have to go out then. This really sucks. My vision is ruined and I just want to give up.

awww so sorry hunnie, but please do not think of giving up! i know its hard to think in another direction in terms of your vision, but please take some time to think, relax and i can assure you THERE IS A PLAN B, there always is as long as we calm down and take some time to relax. Your vision hasn't been entirely messed up because you can still use all your plans in terms of décor and the rest at a different location. Its just a hiccup that will definitely pass one of those things a bride or two have to go through but you'll be fine doll and your day will be just as beautiful and wonderful as you envision it and even much more! xox

Oh goodness that really sucks, I'm so sorry your having to deal with this so last minute. Well maybe it's better in the long run you never know what you might find now and being under pressure could help you get down to business and find a new local. Good luck and hang in there!!

sorry to hear about this honey! i'm sure it will all be better in the end. everything happens for a reason. i do agree with you. if you booked it last year under the 2011 terms, they have to honor it. otherwise if you had known this, you wouldn't have booked with them. dont worry, you guys will figure something out! i'm sure of it :)

I agree with you and hismrsb, they should honor it since you booked it in 2011. I would maybe look into that a little more. But like the other girls said, it's not ruined, just rearranged!!! Your vision of your wedding is still the same, just different location. Take a deep breathe, maybe a day or two to calm down, and then look into other locations. I'm sorry this happened to you, keep your chin up! :)

Thanks for the support and kind words, ladies. I am going to call back and see if there is anyone higher up that I could speak to regarding the matter (or get my mom to call). I just feel a little defeated right now.
