DanaNA....our 1st counseling session
waesn't so bad? :S
So............
The pastor who will be marrying us (my uncle) said that he would like for us to get some counceling, and it can't really be done by him because he lives 4+hrs away, so he called the pastor of the church that we will be married at to see if he would mind doing it... I gotta say I was a bit scared because i'm not an overly religious person (in fact I know NOTHING about religion :S) and we have only met this pastor and his wife maybe once? anywho it went very well, we didn't get a whole lot of "counseling" he told us about how him and his wife met and how he used to be a heavy drug user and drinker before he found the lord (made me feel a lil better that it waesn't sent here stright from heaven...lol) he asked us how we met and how long we have lived together etc, (which I later found out is kinda frowned upon before marriage, but I guess we've already broken more then a few rules having kids, which means a bit more then kissing has also taken place before marriage :O We have another appt. Tuesday night and he said he would like to go thru some scriptures (I think thats what they're called?) with us, he seems more wanting us to "find the lord" then counsel us? We've been living together for 7+ years so i'm not really sure what there is to counsel... *Fingers crossed the next session goes as well as the 1st* |

LOVE these!! Wishing tree tags!
thanks mommy, you've got good taste :)
Love these tags my mom got me for my wishing tree, she picked them up at Margolains, I punched holes thru them and used my pink and brown ribbon, and the BEST part came completely by accident, I noticed that the gold trim on the brown ribbon matches the gold cards and the pink ribbon has a silver lining that matches the silver cards, totally unplanned but looks awsome!!

Dyed crinoline..Before and after
~PiNk~
It turned out pretty light, a little lighter then I would have liked, but it is a bit darker then is showing up on the camera, you can kind of compare the dyed part to the waist (which for some unknown reason didn't take any of the dye) I ended up leaving it in the bathtub overnight because the dye says it doesn't take well to polyester (and i'd say thats what the top layer of my crinoline is) I have a pretty pink bathtub now too! (hope that goes away :s)
After looking at these pictures i'm thinking an iron wouldn't really hurt either :p |

The tale of the traveling dress...
Its gone again :(
I just got my dress back from being shortened and......... its now way to big :(
I'm not aware that I lost much weight but when the corest is pulled tight in the back the criss cross is not showing at all and the sides are overlapping before it fits properly, so....off I sent it to another seamstress (the last one didn't wanna touch it again and made an excuse..LOL) I'm starting to stress that i've got 20 days left and i'm scared that shes gonna screw it up somehow (just how my mind works)... **fingers crossed I get it back in one piece and it fits** :s |

pompoms....1million and counting...
the never ending bragade
I've decided that funds are just about running out and pompoms are a cheep way to dress up the reception, so i'm doing mounds of them, to frame door ways, hang from the ceiling, trim table edges, and cover up "ugly" things...

Centerpieces are done
As done as they can be anyways!
Finally got the rest of my pink and brown ribbon & the clear stones to finish my centerpieces, I love how they turned out! The picture really doesn't do them justice, you can't see the stones at the bottom..
I ended up putting tiny fishing weights on the bottom of the flower stems to keep them weighted to the bottom of the bowl, we'll fill them up with water before the reception and possiable have floating candles on top, if we find time to do it! |

Its not Martha Stewarts...
But I think they turned out kinda ok?
Deffiently doesn't look as good as Martha Stewarts but I think it turned out sorta ok, still needs more "puffing"
i'm not sure if i'm going to continue with the rest of them or not yet, the brown tissue is a bit darker then I would have liked, it looks almost black, I really dont have a 100% sure place that I want to use them either, I was thinking hanging them from the ceiling maybe? I've got enough material to do 10 all together, I think I also might try using just the solid colours and see what that looks like.. I dunno, maybe something i'll do if I have any time left once i'm done all my other DIY projects.. It was a bit hard to get the "ball" effect without crushing and wrinkling the parts I already had done (I would sit it down on those parts) I ended up doing one end and hanging it up in the air to do the rest, (Kinda hard on the arms) If your doing them and haven't started yet, I would recommend very sharp sissors (my edges are kinda jagged because the sissors weren't sharp enough to cut thru all that tissue) Also they are alot bigger then I pictured they would be by looking at the example on the Martha Stewart website, and I did use the 20x30 tissue that it says to use **I've done 2 more, a solid brown & solid pink and the one thing I would recommend is NOT pulling the wire really tight around the middle like it shows in the example on the Martha Stewart website, I found that you couldn't pull as "deep" when you're seperating the tissue ( you can't get in really close to the wire because the tissue is to tight if the wire is choking it) and that didn't allow for as much fullness, I ended up taking the wire of my pink one and tieing it loser because it looked more like a bow then a ball.. |

The Gems~
the Bling **
This is the jewellery I got, I wanted something that was "viney" (is that even a word?) that matched the beading on my dress, I got my jewellery on..you guessed it!...ebay :)
**Update** I actually went and picked up my jewellery from the place I had it shipped to, yesterday, its to small :( The necklace is designed like a chocker and thats not what i want, but I think there is something you can get to extend necklaces if i'm not mistaken? |
