1 year Anniversary
quickly approaching
So our 1 year anniversary is this Sunday. I am looking forward to eating our cake. However, i am worried i will be disappointed with taste. Ive read online that we should take it outta the freezer and thaw it out in the fridge one day before. But ive heard that it tastes disgusting after the year :( At the wedding we cut a tiny slice for the pics and didnt get a real peice after that, so i really want it to taste as good.
looking forward to a fancy dinner and some quality time. |

Wedding night
Staying at home
For our wedding night, we stayed at our apartment. We had an option to stay on Miami Beach (because my sister works at the Hyatt) at Hotel Victor. for some reason, the reservatio slipped through the cracks. We dont live together and got the apartment about a month before the wedding.
However, i really enjoyed spending our Wedding night at our new place. It was really relaxing. We woke up the next ,orning (or should i say after noon) around 1:30 pm. Allen cooked me some breakfast and then we went through most of our wedding gifts. It was even nice waking up and seeing our clothes trail to the bedroom (i.e. my wedding dress in the living room, allens socks and tux pants leading to the bedroom). lol anyways, i highly recommend just staying in on the wedding night. Plus we saved about $300 for the reservation. . . . . just my 2 cents |

Makeup Trail
no lashes for me
so i did my makeup trail on Sunday. A friend of mine works at Mac and will be doing my make up for the wedding. She used purples (which generally look good on me) i though it came out great. She suggested i use false lashes (i have worn them before) so i tried them out but they irritated me a little too much, so i will be going natural for the lashes. Otherwise, i think the makeup came out beautifully.
oh also, she used a kind of purplelish lipstick, it was pretty but i think a little too bold so i may be going a little more natural on the lips too what do u ladies think? UPDATE - I did end up using lashes, they came out tooooo ood in the pre wedding pics, see above |

2 weeks left!
so i will be officially married in two weeks. Heres a list of things i still need to get done:
get marriage license finalize music selections make card box book honeymoon do mock bouquet/boutonnieres make favors reserve car rental get a pillow for ring bearer get frame and mat for “guest book” get/make bridesmaids gifts decide and purchase gifts for parents make slideshow for reception im sure theres more, i will add as i remember |

DIY Wedding
toasting flutes
after a stressful weekend of moving into the new apt., i sat down on sunday and made my toasting flutes.
i took 2 glasses from the case of champagne glasses i bought from ikea (see a few posts down). then i went to micheals and bought some sparkly black scrapbook letters (with a 40% off coupon, they came out to about $1.50) heres the end result. some people may think they are boring but i think they are simple and nice. |

Davids Bridal Slip
Got my slip in the mail yestedray!!!
so when i went to Davids bridal last week to get alterations, they talked me into wearing a slip under the dress. However, the slips at davids bridal start at $50. So i left the store with a mission to find one on ebay. I looked when i got home and found one the exact size and style i needed! the ebay slip came out to $22 including shipping. Sure beats the $50+tax slip from DB. :) |
