Wedding Flowers
And other miscellaneous items
I recently completed the project of getting my Maids of Honors' bouquets how I really wanted them. I ordered green cymbidium orchid bouquets from afloral.com and they were pretty decent on the price. They are real-touch flowers, so they look and feel pretty real. I knew I wanted to add something else to them, so I wrapped them in teal ribbon to give them more color. But after looking around at more flowers, I found some beautiful purple peonies to add to them, so I did. They came out so pretty! And me being a girl that loves bling, I decided to add a little bling to their bouquets as well. So now I have the final results. Maybe I should go into the wedding business for myself, lol. I also ordered my bouquet online from debbiecoflowers.com and they are real touch as well. It is composed of white calla lilies and white cymbidium orchids. I absolutely love it! I didn't add anything to it :-)
I added some ribbon to our unity candles to incorporate our colors. I also added some peacock feathers and teal ribbon to our wedding miscellaneous items: ring pillow, pen set and guest book. I'm so happy about how they all turned out. And my hubby said I wouldn't have time to do stuff like this. Bah! I think everything came out pretty well. |

Wedding Hair Style
All Diva, All Day
I was sooo excited to have my hair trial this past weekend. It was awesome. Mrs. Rhonda, the beautician really took her time with my hair, plus she was also training someone, so I got extra treatment. Pure heaven. They massaged my head and neck, agh my God. It was better than going to the spa (at that time). So the pictures attached are of what my hair will look like on the day of.
I just need to negotiate on price, OMG. Researching the average prices women pay for Bridal hair is ridiculous! Can anyone offer advice on how to get my hair done in the most cost effective way without breaking the bank??? Oh and did I mention that Mrs. Rhonda'a shop is in the same plaza as my venue? Yep, its the perfect location, just not the perfect price. I'm talking like $190 for hair, plus $12 extra for each track of extensions that are added to my hair. usually it would be $25 per track, but mine had hair clips on them. What to do??? 31 Days and counting... |

Wedding Decoration
Our Venue
I haven't been on here in a little while, things have been a little hectic. But all is well now. We recently went up to Atlanta to have our menu tasting and the food was AMAZING!!! I think we'll be having chicken florentine, steamed broccoli in a herb butter sauce and garlic mashed potatoes. Yum! I'm so ready! We also looked at the venue again because they had made a few changes and plus I wanted to see it again. I absolutely love our venue. And the owner, Mrs. Sharice is so wonderful. We'll make another trip up there on the 19th to finalize everything. :-)

Wedding Shower
So, my shower was this past Saturday at one of my bestie's apartment complexes in the Entertainment Center. It was cool. I think everyone had fun. I definitely did. My girls had the decor and my vision pretty much down to a T. I loved it.. The food was off the chain too. OMG, I should've brought tupperwear with me so I could take some more home! LOL But it was fine. ONLY let down was that not that many people came. That bit kind of hurt, but I understand that everyone has a life. Its not like I'm having parties like every weekend though. Therefore, I'm having another shower :-D None of my hubby's family was able to come and many of my friends weren't able to come either. So there will definitely be a Part II. I'm enjoying everything though.

Wedding Accessories
These things really add up...
Okay, so I've been doing some research and wedding accessories really can cost a pretty penny if they don't come in sets and even then, they're still expensive. So after searching, I found a website that has awesomely reasonable prices for the Bride on a Budget. Their products are of nice quality. At first I wanted to design my own accessories because I love crafts, but then my hubby was always like "You don't have time for that." So, when I did find what I really wanted and showed him how much it would cost, he was like "that's crazy and for one day?!" So yeah, I kept searching. I just ordered a 10-piece wedding accessory set (in the picture) that I plan to dress up just a little bit, with peacock feathers and a little color here and there. It only cost $52.85 for the ENTIRE SET which includes: Toasting Flutes (2), Cake and Server Set (2), Garter (1), Guest Book (1), Pen and holder (2), Flower Basket (1), and Ring Pillow (1). I ordered them from www.idearibbon.com
This site is awesome! Ladies, don't stress yourself about these small things. If you're not all that crafty, let the internet be your guide :-) Happy Planning!!! |

Bridal Shower
Its Saturday!!!
I'm so excited!!! This saturday is my Bridal Shower and I am so ready for it. I don't know too many details about it except where it is (which I recently found out :-)) and what time it's supposed to be. I don't even know what the invitation looks like! LOL I wanted my Maids of Honor to take this on and plan it for me and I'm looking forward it. I didn't want to be one of those Brides that has to control EVERYTHING in relation to my wedding. Who plans their own shower anyway? NOT ME! :-) It can be done, but that doesn't mean that it should be done. It'll in be in Warner Robins, GA. It seems like it's been forever since I've seen a lot of my family and friends all together.

Wedding Planner
We're making progress!
So, on this past Saturday I met with my wedding coordinator. And I am super excited! I've pretty much planned everything else, but we wanted someone to take care of everything once the day gets here. So I'm just gonna show up and make it do what it do. :-) We talked about a lot of things that I actually hadn't thought about, those small details that could make a difference. Like what the wedding party will do once the ladies are escorted to their places and such. I hadn't thought about music for things like the unity candle ceremony, cake cutting and entrance music into the reception. That's how you get the party started! So I've been getting some ideas together. I had to ask for my hubby's opinion on what music he'd like as well. And you know what, we found that it's really hard to come up music for this because a lot of music that is out nowadays isn't really worth very much and doesn't have real substance. So we'll definitely have some old school in the mix.

Wedding Hair Style
And Wedding Makeup
I have booked my make-up artist for my wedding and her work is Amazing! I had never gotten my makeup professionally done, so I'm really looking forward to it. I'm also kind of torn between how to wear my hair for our wedding. The first picture is how I wear my hair on a regular basis. And taking into consideration that my dress is very sparkley and detailed, I'm not sure as to what would be best. I'm wearing a tiara and a short fingertip veil . For hair: P.S. My hubby isn't a fan of up-dos. So what about half up/half down? Suggestions? What do think?

Fitness Reality
Working out isn't always fun, but necessary
So, I had been working out every now and then so that I could get in good shape for my wedding. I love to dance, but when my hubby and I were looking for gyms, no one offered the kind of classes I like. So then we joined this gym called YouFit. They were reasonably priced and we got a good deal for membership for the both of us. I like it so far.
I'm not very athletic, but I have a somewhat athletic build, so people always think I played sports and such. NOT! lol, but I have been working on my physique. Gotta keep every right and tight, you know. I bought my wedding dress last year in May 2011. Long time, I know to hold on to something and make sure you don't gain or lose too much weight. When we bought it, it fit perfectly. I even cried I was so happy that I had found 'the dress." I love watching Say Yes to the Dress. And so, to keep myself from trying it on too much, I hid it in the back of my closet. When December rolled around, me and my girls went dress shopping. Yay! My hubby was actually with me when I found my dress, but he doesn't remember what it looks like. He only knows that it's silver, Yes Ladies my dress is NOT white, it's silver. Going for the Diva look. Anywho, we found the dress we all could agree on. I wanted to see what they would look like with me in my dress, so I tried it on with my accessories and all. They had not seen it yet, so it was a first for them. It was gorgeous with only one problem: IT DIDNT FIT PERFECTLY ANYMORE! OMG, I felt like I was gonna flip out. So from then on, my hubby and I decided to get a personal trainer. So far I had lost about 2lbs, but now I'm starting to gain muscle. Our goal is to slim down the fluffiness and tone everything up. Target area: my tummy. Ladies when you're working out, don't weigh yourselves everyday. Only do it once a month, because it can be deceiving. When you're losing body fat and gaining muscle, muscle will weigh more than fat. So, don't freak out. Happy Working Out Ladies!!! |

Wedding Invitation
We ordered our invitations, save-the-dates, reception cards (we used them for our registries), return address labels and envelopes to go with all of them from VistaPrint. They are so reasonable on prices. We were big on sticking to our budget. As of late, that's gone out of the window. :-) Not trying to have a $20,000 wedding, but we do want to have the $20,000 look without the $20,000 price tag. :-) I'm all about finding those secret deals and great bargains. If you haven't already purchased your wedding stationery, definitely check out www.vistaprint.com
