Ask a Question
Am I wrong for wearing WHITE???

It's me again...lol!

The new issue this week is, "you're REALLY wearing a WHITE wedding dress?"

That's the question I get everytime someone in my family asks what color my dress is. I'm a mother of one (a nine-year-old) and I'm almost 30. My FH has a four-year-old and we intend to have a baby in the next few years. However, my family is straight acting CRAZY because they think I should be wearing an ivory dress or something other than white because of my church wedding.

I feel like this: it's my wedding...I'm only getting married once, and my dream is to be wed in a white gown with bling and and some blinged out shoes!!! My mother is the only one who hasn't said anything yet (to me anyway...lol!) about the dress being white.

Am I wrong in my thought process...or should these family members just learn to suck it up and watch me walk down the aisle in my white get-up????

You should wear what you want!!!... Im planning on wearing white too & my FH & I have Our 2 children together, we been together 9 years & believe me ive been hearing things as far as why now after 9 years together?, after having 2 kids already? after already living together in our home?? Ugh!! It gets annoying & my response There is a time in life for EVERYTHING! & maybe before it wasnt time for MY FH & I to get married but i can tell you one thing the vows we are going to make and getting married in church sure does have much more meaning to me than what i thought before? We Matured and now have much more importance in our life as a family & one of them is getting married through church!

SO Choose what make you happy Good Luck Girl!!

If you want to wear white wear white, if you want to get married in rainbow colours then so it. You do nor have to consider anyone else in choosing the colour of tour dress

It's your wedding, you are paying for it so no one else has the right to weigh in on what you decide to do. Go for what you want and make the day what you want it to be!!!

rock the white frock!! and do not care what others say, like kwepie ur paying said ur paying for the wedding so no other should have a say or comment...i cant stand when ppl try and dictate how UR wedding should be...traditions and etiquettes have evolved with time change, so aint nothing wrong wit a white dres.. ur dress color isnt what the wedding or marriage is about its the vows and the two lives being joined as one, so just remind them all ;)

It's your wedding...if you want to wear white, then you can wear right.

I'm only wearing ivory because I think it looks better on my skin :-)

I think its completely up to you and what you want to wear. It was the same way with me until I made it plain and clear that it was my wedding and that I was gonna wear what i wanted to wear.

wear wht u want and let it smack all of them in the face. When the convo comes up abt ur dress, dnt talk abt it with them. Jus be respectful and say "you'll see it on (whtever ur wedding date is)" Ur FH opionion is the only one tht matters! My FH and I have a 1 y.o. baby girl and getting married in a white dress! &I wish somebody WOULD say something lol...it's ur wedding and this isn't 1923!
