I'm using callas for me and still thinking about the girls. I was thinking tulips but my aunt (who is my florist) says they will not last very long especially when its warm outside.

Flowers
Long-lasting flowers?
Having just gone to my first wedding of the year, I've surreptitiously been on the lookout for the kinds of flowers I want for the wedding. I really want something simple and elegant looking that's streamlined, nothing too big. My favourite flowers are lilies, orchids and tulips and I'm not too much of a rose person.
I digress.... So anyway, I went to the wedding (beautiful!) and they had an abundance of orchids which were just stunning! They were on the pews, and when we got to the reception, they were on the bar tables, and as centerpieces. The one thing I noticed throughout the day was that the orchids began to wilt halfway through. I don't really want to spend money on something that will wilt halfway through the day... My friend who got married last year had calla lillies that were pristine after the day and when I took my bouquet home, it looked as fresh as it did when I got it the morning of the wedding... it lasted a good two or three days before it started to wilt a little. I don't really want to go the calla lily route though. What are you going to have as flowers? Do you expect yours to last through the day or do you basically know it's going to be a write-off? |
