Is it worth the drive?
There is a Hobby Lobby approximately 93 miles from me... Pathetic that I want to go there so bad, I know.
I have saw so many great items bought from there from other gals posts-- I JUST THINK I NEED TO EXPERIENCE IT MYSELF!!! Am I crazy? LOL YES-- More than likely, ha ha! I think I will try to scoot away this weekend and check it out... I'm EXCITED! |

FLOWERS: FAKE VS. REAL
How many of you gals out there are using all REAL flowers and how many of you are using FAKE?
I would like to use REAL flowers for the bridal party boquets, BUT I am using FAKE pomanders (for the ceremony outside) and I will probably use fake flowers for the centerpieces... REAL flowers are SOOO EXPENSIVE and FAKE ones can look cheap.... It's a double-edged sword!!! I am also contemplating buying FRESH ROSES (our flower) from a wholesaler online (MUCH CHEAPER)-- Has anyone out there used a website like this before? How reliable are they? How do the flowers look(do they ship well)? |

Getting Hitched in Vegas!!!
(((LONG READ: Sorry Ladies!!!)
Well we were gonna keep this a secret from pretty much everyone, but I thought I would share it with you all here... We are going on vacation in Vegas this August... and we will be there the same day we are getting married next year (August 21)... Also our BM and MOH will be out there with us in Vegas... and we thought what the hell... lets do it in Vegas TOO! lol My MOH will be shooting in a pool competition and the BM is Jarid's brother so why not?!?!? The BM and MOH both know about what is gonna happen. We mentioned to his mother that we were going to do this and she got very upset, so THIS IS GOING TO BE A SECRET! I am scared to death that this is going to blow up in our face, but what the heck-- we are going to get married next year for sure anyway... we will just keep the Vegas bit LOW KEY and QUIET! But my question is, how is this going to work as far as me changing my name... I want to wait until we are married at home next year before I change my name. I am not sure how that works? Also- we live in PA, so should we bother with the hassle of getting another wedding license? I know that the officiant will sign documents, and I am hoping they will just "overlook" the whole, "we are already married" bit... O yeah... since we will be married on the 21st both times we were toying with the idea of getting tatoos in vegas of a pair of dice... one showing a "2" and one showing a "1" for "21"..... |

Monogram Cake Topper
Ok-- So I know practically everyone is using some variation of these... But I LOVE them...
And I gotta thank the other brides out there for their posts giving me the inspiration to do this myself (samanthawaller22, marta12, and others) I bought a black Old English Font "D" off of a site for 2.99!!!! Then I bought rhinestones from Michaels and glued them on using aerisol spray glue... The crap left over on the black part, is residue from the spray glue.. but once its done it'll all be covered... I will post pics of the finished product soon! |

MY FAVORS...
I have figured out how I am gonna do the favors--atleast how they will be packaged!!!
I picked up plain white favor boxes from Michaels... for 50% off : ) ...Then I figured I would wrap them with pieces of the damask ribbon around the boxes... I then would like to adhere the ribbon with personalized stickers... Which will be HOT PINK and include our names and the date of our wedding. I am thinking I will fill the boxes up with mints? Something that basically won't melt!!! Any suggestions???? |

I am a frequent flier of the Dollar Tree...I found these really awesome tealight holders on my last trip...
They come in 3 different heights so it creates like a candle scape... I bought 8 of each size. I plan glamming them up with gems or something... WIll post pics of the final product soon.... |

Damask Centerpieces+HOT PINK
So I gave it a whirl at this whole 'being creative' stuff...
I saw other members' posts (thanks for the inspiration!) and a found that they made these really awesome corset style boquet holders and candle holders.... I thought it would be cute if I have corset style vases with a pomander like floral top (hot pink/fushcia) flowers- (roses/peonies)... What does everyone think? If anyone has done this--- please let me know how you lace it up... that seems to be the most difficult part. Anyone who scrapbooks will love how to make these!! If you need to know how to do this... I hook ya up!!! |

Sorry for the delay ladies... THESE WERE SOOO EASY!!! All I used was ribbon, gem stickers, and damask rub-ons I found at Michaels. I used spray glue-- It was SO MUCH EASIER than using hot glue. |

...My DIY Votives...DAMASK THEME!

So out of bordom the past few nights, I started decorating my frosted votives I picked up from cudge.net.... I ran to Michaels and bought Ribbon, Stick on Gems, Damask rub-ons (so cute!) and went to town.... I made about 3-6 of each "style" I created so I can scatter them all out on all the different tables. Can't wait to show you all ladies!!! |
