Have You Heard of Doing Wedding Pictures Before the Ceremony?

HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF DOING THE FIRST LOOK PHOTOGRAPHS WITH YOUR FH AND WEDDING PARTY? THIS IS BASICALLY WHERE THE PHOTOGRAPHERS CAPTURES YOUR FH FIRST GLIMPSE OF YOU AND ALL OF THE WEDDING PICTURES ARE DONE BEFORE THE WEDDING. THE THINGS THAT WE COMPLAINED ABOUT GOING TO OTHER WEDDINGS WAS THE LONG EXTENDED COCKTAIL HOURS FOR THE WEDDING PARTY TO TAKE THEIR PICTURES. I WOULD LOVE TO DO AWAY WITH THAT! WHAT DO YOU THINK??

I've heard of this & i def plan on doing it! The photographers i've talked to actually recommend it as far as the 1st time that he gets to see u in ur dress & all dolled up. I hear it's reallt emotional & makes for great photos. Plus, you get that extra time to enjoy your reception! :-)

I love the idea! I've always thought about it but my FH is old fashion and thought it would be bad luck. When I told him that a lot of brides did it, he thought it would be a great idea. YES! LOL.

i love the idea!! but i really dont wanna risk losing that feeling of him seeing me walking down the aisle coz it has been a dream of mine since i was a kid !!

I was afraid of that as well. I figured that the "pre" photos wouldn't have my veil, just the desired hair piece. I was reading about this on The Knot and one of the consulants replied back to a bride with this concern and said that according to the groom, he fell in love all over again TWICE! I suppose once he sees you its like seeing you dolled up at your best, once the veil is on and you are walking down the aisle to YOUR song, it will never replace the feeling.

I have heard a lot of people talking about doing this. I have also been in weddings where the bride and groom has taken some pictures together along with the bridal party. I talked to my fh about it and he is agreeing to do this. I would rather get that out they way before the wedding so I can enjoy every minute of my reception.

I kept going back and forth on this because I did like the idea of my FH seeing me for the first time when I come down the aisle, but the "first look" has so many pros that we decided to go that way. My FH loves the idea and he's happy that we can at least spend some time socializing with our family and friends at the cocktail hour.

Plus, I love the idea of having an intimate setting where my FH gets to see me for the first time and getting to capture the moments on camera and video.

I agree! I loved the thought of the intimate meeting before the wedding for my FH to get his sneek peek. My FH is the "manly" type so I think I would get his real reaction when it is just me and him. The other plus is that we wanted our wedding early in the day so our pictures will be the freshly made over bride and groom shots. I'm starting to love the idea of breaking some of the wedding traditions.

I'm doing this to reduce guest waiting time. The photographer will still be able to capture the "first look" experience even if it's not when you actually walk down the aisle.

hey! i just saw this new concept (well new for me anyways) instead of the first look you do a first touch!!! like you each stay on one side of the door without seeing each other but touching or blindfolded and touching!! it is mostly iif you are anxious and want your fh to calm u down but u not sure if u wanna do a first look coz u scared it might spoil ur walk down the aisle.......... am soooooooooo doing this!!!! i think its so sexy!!!

Heyyyy... I dig it! I think it would be cute. I had went online and saw photos of the "sneek peek" and it was too cute. His expression was priceless and she blushed like a little girl. Now, I have to google the first touch! I likey!!
