Ask a Question
Bride and Groom same Height!!!

It isn't funny, that you normally always end up with the opposite person you are looking for? Let me give you the back story on that.... I'm 5'9" 1/2 and the FH is 5'9". I normally went for the taller guys who are about 6ft. and up. But my heart connected with his and couldn't look away. Now I'm facing shoe dillemma!!!!! He doesn't want me to wear heels, b/c he of course doesn't want to look short. Plus, I don't really want to wear heels, b/c I don't want to look a giant next to him, in the heels that I truly want to wear!!!! Such a dillemma, so I'm looking at ballet flats flat sandals. I'm just not sure which ones to go for. I don't want to wear ballet flats, b/c I think that I wouldn't feel as sexy... am I crazy or should I just get over it?

Tell me what you think?

And the taller Brides, please tell me what you're going to do???

i say go with something like #2, a sexy flat sandal.  You can wear ballet flats any day.  At least some dressy sandals would be hot! =)  good luck!

I am in the same boat! No beautiful heels for me either. I am opting for ballet flats from Dessy- the picture is everywhere so I'm sure you've seen them.  Mine are black and I added some rinestone clips for some bling. The only reason I'm not going for something like your 2nd pic is because we are getting married in Feb. Good luck. :o)

oh this posting is sooooooo me!  i'm a 6ft tall bride, so my shoes of choice will NOT be part of tha plan! lol  I do plan on wearing an opentoe shoe though.  An open toe ballet flat.

What happened, all the men didn't eat their wheaties when,as boys, their mothers told them to?  lol

I'm not a tall bride I'm 5'5 and my Hubby is 5'6..lol..I totally wore flats (some bright red Converse All Star satin ballet flat/tennis shoes) on my wedding day. I think it was the best decision I ever made...I was comfortable ALL DAY...my feet didnt hurt, and my FH has his dress shoes on that made him a little taller, so It loooked like he had a few inches on me..lol. I loved it. If its a picture thing, just get two pairs of shoes, (heels, and flats) wear the heels for pics, and flats to walk down the aisle in and for the recep...No one will know. Your dress is long and no one can see them. Good luck

I am a shoe fanatic and I have always been taller than my FH, so we came to a compromise instead of 4" I will wear 2" and at the ceremony he will be a step higher than me and when we take photos I will wear no shoes for some shots.

I can so relate!!! I'm a little under 5"8 and my FH is about 5"7 so there is a slight height difference but I will most likely wear flats on my wedding day or mini heels.  My FH will be wearing dress shoes of course and they tend to have a little wedge so he'll be taller then me (for once, LOL!!)

LOL.  FH and I are both the same height!  We're both 5'5" and 1/2!  So, I'm wearing a flat with a small mini heel (literally, it's not even 1") so that he'll look taller...'cause his dress shoes add more than mine do.  I think it's the right call though.  I wore heels to my best friend's wedding (I was her MOH) and I was in pain for most of the reception.  This way, I figure I'll be comfy all night.  Good luck!
