A little over 3 years

Did you get the ring you wanted?
If I were to pick one out it would be exactly the same! It was his great grandmothers and it means that much more to me.

Was the proposal a complete surprise?
it was a suprise when he did it but I knew he is the one I will marry

Do you wish you had a bigger/smaller diamond? If so How big or small?
Im pleased with the size I have but I won't complain if he upgrades it later on :)

Did you cry when he proposed?
of course! lol

When do you want to go for your honeymoon?
we are going the day after!

Are you buying his wedding band for him?
I ALREADY DID :)

lol if he only knew how much things cost. . .

mine is plain gold band and his is white gold with 2 saphires and 1 diamond in it

a tux- Im letting him pick it out without me knowing what it looks like first lets hope he does a good job!

well 11 months so kind of long i guess

basically all the planning has been done by myself

My friend had a picture slide show during dinner at her reception which I thought was kind of cute. She included pictures of him and her when they were younger and then together. I would like to do something similar. My DJ has a huge screen that he can show pictures on. My original thought was that I wanted pictures of us during our first dance and then pictures of him when he was younger during his dance with his mom and then pictures of me during my father/daugher dance. But now Im thinking that will just be too much. Maybe I should just do it during dinner when the dinner music is playing? Or is is just way to corny? I don't know I can't make up my mind!

so we are going with peonies, tulips, and carnations. All bright pink, in a cylander vase with black satin ribbon around it. to cut costs, we are going to alternate with a round fishbowl-like container on top of a short cylander. With these we are puting 3 floating candles in it and my flourist is going to spiral a vine w/bright pink flowers around the inside of the bowl. All of them will be on a round mirror with 4 votive candles. The tables are oval so we are going to alternate tall and short cylandars down the table on both sides with floating candles in them. The linens will be white table cloths and chaircovers with black sashes on the chairs. We are going to have a sweetheart table with white table cloth and lots of votive candles (see pic - ignore the green) My bouquet is going to be a big poof of pink roses, peonies and white cala lillies and his boutinierre is going to be a white cala lily.

I already got his tankard which looks awsome ( we were a little disapinted by the size - it wasnt as big as we thought it looked online but it will do) so Ive got a lot of ideas for my flute. I found these pink ones that look awesome but they are all like over $100 - a little too expensive so Ive been trying to find alternatives or a cheaper pink one. Ladies?

Trying to find a hairstyle that will still look good with my viel. My flourist is making 3 flower hair clips for me and I originally was thinking half-up with these stuck in (similar to most of these pics) but now I have my viel and I don't know if it will still look good.

here are my invitations. I am going to put a pink bow in the middle of the black band. By the way, does anyone know where to get the pre-made bows with adhesive for invitations? I found some light pink ones but I want bright pink.

I found my dress at a place called fantastic finds in Lansing, MI. The designer is Essence of Australia. I ordered it in white, it has a corset back and beautiful detachable train. I love it and can't wait to wear it! I just wish that I could wear it more than once

I still can't believe we are engaged! He apparently was planning something extravagent but my grandma was very ill with cancer. I usually went on the weekends to see her but he always had to work so didn't realize how sick she really was. He finally came with me during the week to see her because I knew time was short. After seeing how sick she really was, he propoed a few days later so that I would be able to tell her and show her my ring. The morning of May 7, 2009 I found him on one knee with a beautiful ring in hand - his great grandma's ring. I was so excited and emotional after he told me why he did it a little sooner than planned that I called my grandma right away. A bitter sweet morning it was because my step-mom answered the phone and told me that she had entered heaven just a few hours before. . .
