Engagement Pictures
Bishop Photography
We did our engagement pictures on May 20th, 2007 at Schoepfle Garden in Northeastern Ohio. Bruce had told me how beautiful it was, but it truly was an AMAZING location with lots of different areas for pictures. We were there for about 1 1/2 hours, then went down the street to the location of an old schoolhouse for some fun pictures on the swings. =OD
We love how these turned out, so yes, there are a lot of them!! Enjoy! Feel free to C&P the pictures if you want, but please credit Bishop Photography! |

Videography
2nd Mile Productions
This is by far our biggest vendor splurge, but SOOO worth it. Brian and Susy Morris own and operate 2nd Mile Productions based out of the Akron area. I agonized forever over about 20 different DVD demos I had received. Once I saw 2nd Mile's demo, I was completely in love with the video. It made you feel so emotionally involved in the couple's day even though you didn't know them at all. So I took a while and watched it again a month later, and felt the exact same way. I met with Brian and the rest is history, as they say! We were getting the Heirloom package, the biggest and most inclusive that they offer. Their videos are works of art, and I truly cannot wait to see how our video turns out. I know it will be amazing!
Their website is located at www.2ndmileproductions.com and definitely check out their blog, where Brian frequently posts new video recaps and things from his most recent weddings. www.2ndmileproductions.com/blog |

Reception Location
DeLuca's Place in the Park
DeLuca's is the premier location for weddings and other events in Lorain County. We had looked at several other places in the area, but felt DeLuca's was the best fit since we could get most of the extras we wanted to have through them and not have to work with a ton of other companies/vendors.
Our menu thus far is: ~Table carved roast beef ~Chicken (haven't decided yet) ~Stuffed shells (cheese) ~Chantilly potatoes ~California steamed vegetable medley ~Salads ~Rolls ~Dessert buffet (pastries, etc.) We are also serving appetizers: ~Swedish meatballs ~Mozzarella sticks with marinara ~"Nibbler tray" with crakers, lunch meats, and cheese |

Ceremony Location
St. Peter's United Church of Christ
I grew up attending St. Peter's UCC, located in Amherst, OH. My mom also attended church there growing up, and it is where my parents were married in 1977!! It is a beautiful church, and we will be married by the church's WONDERFUL officiant, Rev. Mark Pemberton!

Favors
Candy buffet!!
We know that people can grow tired of taking home little trinkets from the weddings they attend. So we figured we'd give people something they will certainly love: CANDY!!
We will put together Chinese style candy boxes and have them at our guests' places at the tables. Our DOC Angela has become a pro at setting up a candy buffet (the main photo is of the one at her wedding) so she will be setting it up and using her 33 pieces of glassware. :) |

Wedding Photography
Bishop Photography
Back in November 2006, my mom and I got a call from a DJ inviting us to come to a wedding they were doing that weekend to check them out. While we were there, we couldn't help but notice that there was a slideshow running on a big screen on the bar of photos from the ceremony and preparations earlier that day. We thought it was the coolest thing and decided to talk to the photographers and get their card. It was then that I met Bruce Bishop, who was about the nicest guy you'll ever meet. Nothing was really going on at that time in the reception since dinner had ended and dancing hadn't started yet, so Bruce and his assistant talked to me for a good 15 minutes. When we went to a bridal show they were at 2 months later, Bruce recognized me immediately and we greeted eachother like old friends. When I finally got to take Matt into their studio for a meeting, they both hit it off as well and the contract was signed then and there. We did our engagement pictures in May with Bruce and his awesome wife Laurie and had a great time. We were so thrilled with the results. I'm a bit of a picky bride when it comes to photography, but I have all the confidence in the world that Bruce and Laurie will do a wonderful job!! =O)

Wedding Cake
Kiedrowski's Bakery
Okay, I am finding it absolutely impossible to locate an "example" picture of what I am looking for. We're having 300 guests, so it has to be fairly large. I love cakes with columns to add height and (yes, laugh if you wish) I love the idea of a fountain as well. So what I'm looking for is a big tier at the bottom with columns going up from there and a fountain sitting on that bottom tier. Then two more tiers together, then another shorter column piece and either one or two tiers at the top. Also those will be round. Then on the sides are two-tiered square cakes (without columns), one on each side. The flavors we like right now are yellow with chocolate mousse filling, spice (since a lot of people seem to like that), and cassata cake with strawberry and bavarian cream filling. We'll likely add more. This will be iced with buttercream and likely have some airbrushing and icing/pearling work along the sides.
Then Matt is having a groom's cake as well. He wants it to be a curling rock (Matt curls...don't laugh, it's harder than it looks!) with our BGSU falcon logo on the top. His cake will be chocolate cake with chocolate filling and chocolate buttercream icing. |

Wedding Flowers
Botamer Florist
For flowers, we are using a combo of roses, gerbera daisies (my favorite!), stephanotis, and stargazer lilies.
My bouquet will have all coral, pink, and fuschia roses with stephanotis (with pearls and "bling" stones in the centers) hand tied with colored ribbon and finished off with a sparkly "bracelet" type thing that goes around the stems. I saw a mock-up they made of the exact thing they made for a bridal show but in only white roses...AMAZING!! My girls will have hand tied bouquets of gerbera daisies, roses, and vibernum in the same colors mentioned above. The guys, dads, and grandfathers will have coral roses for their bouts and Matt will also have 2 stephs on his. The moms and grandmas will have wrist corsages, with the moms having roses and gerbs and the grandmothers having gerbs. We will have 3 different types of centerpieces. 1/3 of them will be tall arrangements with roses, gerbs, stargazer lilies and some greens to help fill them out. The next 1/3 will be all pink roses in a short square vase. The last 1/3 will be the same as above but with all fuschia roses. At this point, all arrangements will be sitting on a hexagonal mirror with votive candles and rose petals. We will also have arrangements for the altar, the pews, an arch for the back of the church, and the unity candle. |

The dress for my wonderful bridesmaids! My little sister Abby's dress! The new 07-08 season picture of the dress The fabric swatch online of the girls' dresses. It's a really pretty color! My mom's dress on the model Jill, Karli, and Abby trying on dresses (they are the right dresses, but not the right color.) Love my sister! My mom in her dress! And a full length shot of her dress! Abby got her dress in! She looks so beautiful and LOVES the dress (the color look s a bit different in this picture than it does in person.) |
The Bridal Party
Dresses for the girls and the moms!
My girls are pretty scattered all over the country, everywhere from California to Chicago to the east coast. So the easiest place to go for the bridesmaids dresses (as much as I don't really love to go there) was David's Bridal. I found a few dresses that I loved and fortunately for me, my girls liked the same one! They are in Palm Beach Coral and I LOVE these dresses! I also didn't want them to have to spend a whole lot on this dress, so this was a great fit!
My mom's dress came from Brides by Demetrios, the same place as my dress. She picked a sleeveless V-neck chiffon dress in pistachio, a color that looks great on my mom and will really compliment the color that the bridesmaids are wearing. We went shopping for Matt's mom's dress in November 2007 and found a few dresses that she liked. Nothing has been decided on or purchased yet, so this will be updated once she finds a winner! :) |

We took the beading of this one... ...and combined it with the shape of this one. We also had the detachable train made into one piece with the dress. Voila!! My 3 tiered veil...2 tiers of fingertip length and one tier of cathedral, which detaches from the clip after the ceremony. It has scattered rhinestones on it...LOVE it! My tiara! My shoes! Cute rhinestone detailing on the shoes. |
Wedding Dress
Everything bridal fashion!
The finding of my dress was a very long process, and we visited a lot of stores. We found it at Brides by Demetrios in Legacy Village in Beachwood. It is actually custom-made just for me, which is a pretty cool thought!! My veil and headpiece were purchased at David's Bridal in November 2007 and I found my adorable shoes at The Shoe Dept. in September 2007 on sale for $7.00!
