I got our price quote from the florist, and I am NOT accepting that. I am not a flower person, and I don't even want a lot of flowers. The standards-my bouquet, BM bouquets, bouts, and I think the centerpeices are to be just one red rose.

So, I saw the tutorial video on how to make a bouquet, and it really does look pretty easy.

I think I'm going to ask my BM's if they don't mind doing it after the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding. We're all going to be staying in the same hotel, so I thought it could be kind of fun actually.

What I want is similar to the pic, so that can't be that hard!

Who else is going to take this project on?
Does anyone know what those particular roses are called? I like the darker red, rather than the standard red rose.

I did all of my own flowers. I ordered from myflowerbuyer.com and they were perfect and very reasonable. I did my bouquets as well and they are very easy with flower tape and ribbon.

girl i feel you! thats why the only flowers i had at my wedding was my bouquet and i waited until the morning of to do it lol! you can totally do it yourself but i would advise you not to wait until the morning of to do it like i did unless you really know what you're doing :). i had a simple bouquet of roses like the one you have pictures. i used two dozen roses and they were held together with a pearl bouquet wrap. nothing fancy but i worked for me.

I could have flipped when the florist gave me a quote also!! Since then I went on Esty and found a wonderful lady by the name of Danielle who is doing my whole bridal party....grooms and BM, parents and grandparents all for under $400. I couldn't beat that with flowers and labor. I wanted to do them myself but the price even for fresh was still pricey and besides that I have enough DIY's projects. I hope it all works out for you but try Esty if all else fail or you just would rather someone else to do it.

I hear ya sister, I think I will be doing my own as well. The roses you are looking at are either Black Bacara or Black Magic. Those are the darkest red roses there are, I think. There are many online wholesalers available. Just google it :o)

thanks girls... I'm glad to know that I'm just not being cheap, that it's true how overpriced flowers are.
Are the flowers that she's doing on etsy real or silk? I've contemplated silk, but I would have to be really sure that they look very real.
