Bridesmaids
A family at war-tattoo cover up?
So, I had chosen not to have my sister as a bridesmaid, because she has a huge tattoo down one of her arms, and one very ugly one on her boob. I think she has one on her back should blade too, but that doesn't bother me at all.
Well, I truly do feel bad, and now I"m getting heat from my mother about it. So, I was thinking of buying her some tattoo cover up. Has anyone had any experience with this? Any recommendations? If that doesn't work, or maybe I will anyways, also buy her a little bolero jacket or shrug that's the same color as the dress. That would cover up her arm. I really don't want to sound like a jerk. I love my sister, and what I had planned on was choosing a special dress for her in the same brown color as my bridesmaids, but longer sleeved and able to cover the boob tattoo. Then I was going to have her do special things like be the one to pull out the aisle runner, do a reading, etc. I don't know... this has been haunting me from day one, but she and I are two completely different people, and our day is going to be so classy and elegant, I don't want to see her with the tattoos everywhere. It just looks so trashy. |

Wedding Cake
So excited!
Choosing my dress and choosing our cake is what I've been most excited about through all our planning. We go this Saturday to meet with our baker, and get to taste some of her flavors.
We haven't decided on any flavors yet, but we have chosen the design. We like the one in the pic, but it will be square and be 3 layers. We're not 100% on the grapes yet... our reception is at a vineyard, so the wine theme is through out the wedding, but I may go with some red roses instead of the grapes. Not sure yet. We received our topper in the mail a couple weeks ago, so we'll bring that with us too. ( I don't know why the pic came out upside down!) I'm so excited!! |

Wedding Flowers
decisions.... prices...decisions
I have pretty much made the decision that for my bouquet I want a very round, very dark red nosegay of just red roses. I'm thinking 20 roses.
For my bridesmaids, I really want the glamelia bouquet in the second picture. Anyone know how much those babies run? I would think they would be more expensive, since they are so time consuming. I haven't had a consultation with the florist as of yet, so I have no idea what any of this will cost. I am really not big on spending a lot of money on flowers, so I hope it's not bad! |

Wedding Photography
wow
I may be delusional, but I never thought that photography would cost SO much!
I began researching one particular photographer that I loved, and I nearly fell off the comfy couch when I saw the price tag of $3,000 I really really thought that photography would only cost about $1,000 tops! I don't mind paying more than that, now that I see that it's more than I thought, because honestly- I think that the lasting photos are more important than centerpeices, or chair covers.. things that everyone will forget. I live in a little podunk town, and there are about 10 to choose from, all within the same range. I do think that $3,000 is NOT going to happen from this girl though. What are the prices like in your areas? |

Ask a Question
My colors=styles
So, my main colors are chocolate brown and ivory. I am accenting that with red, as my bouquet will be a round ball of open red roses.
My bridesmaids will carry similar, but smaller bouquets. I am lost on the coordination of the groomsmen. My fiance wants to wear a black suit, with a red designed tie to coordinate with my flowers. I wanted to the groomsmen to wear brown suits, to match the girls, because I didn't think that a black suit with brown tie and vest would go. What do you think? Any suggestions would be great!!! Thanks! |

Bridesmaids
Also found the Bridesmaid's dresses
Three out of 4 girls got to pick the dress and try on the dress at David's. This is the one they chose. The only stipulation was the color, other than that they were free to agree on one style. This one fits everyone perfectly and is comfy. They can totally wear it again too.

Wedding Dress
Check one huge detail off the list.
New here!
Before we had even secured our ceremony or reception venue, I bought my dress. I had no intentions of buying my dress that day. Myself, my mom, and 3 of my girls went to David's Bridal simply to try on different styles and see what I liked. After about 20 dresses, the second to last dress I put on, we ALL fell in love with. So, being that it was priced at a ridiculously LOW price that day, I left the store with my bridal gown. (well the receipt anyway!) I also got my veil and undergarments. So exciting! |
