How much have you spent on 'Research & Development' HAHA

I'm putting the $$ I spent on all these mags/books in the 'Research/Development' section of my planning (to justify how much i've spent on them haha) ;) A few of these were given to me (the ones dated before June 07), the others I bought :) U think I'm addicted? I bought my LAST bridal magazine this weekend. Brides July/August 2008 issue: MY FAVORITE COVER! she has exactly what I want: hot pink bouquet, hot pink heels and pink makeup :) so excited! and a little sad that i'm pretty much done with all this fun planning! but lots more planning to come for other events, so it'll be ok.

Just wondering, how much have you spent on bridal mags/books?

I gathered all of them and counted 28 mags/books. BUT then I found 3 others I had stashed in other places haha so 31 total over a year...yikes!

What about you?

Well so far I've only spent about $20. My Fiance mentioned that 95% of the pages in the magazines are the same (same advertisments) so once you've read one, you've read them all. So I figured I'd only buy 1 per season, or something like that. But I like the idea of a "R&D" section of the budget...if I add it in, it isn't so much of a splurge as it is a necessity for the wedding....lol

I ♥ reading these mags. However I usally dont buy them; either my mom or FI does but I agree with your this months was by far the BEST cover--I ♥ her shoes and her bouquet they pop in the picture. I also have to agree that the ads are always the same....

I budgeted about $100 for research. I subscribed to 1 magazine for 12 for a year and bought a couple off the stand. So magazines haven't cost me much, less than 25 bucks but I have spent about 30-40 bucks on samples of cardstock (including pocket folds), favors, ribbon, a few invites (before I decided to do my own) etc. I like to see things before I get a whole heap of them especially when it comes to paper.

i didnt actually budget for these, i just bought when something caught my eye.  i LOVE magazines in general, and i actually buy them based on their ads, i LOVE ads lol and yeah they definitely have the same ads, BUT if you look through them season by season, the ads change a little, or they have a common theme.  thats how i know designers lol i make collages out of them and get inspired (fashion mostly) by them and do a lot of graphic design, this goes for fashion mags and wedding mags.  i havent bought a vogue or anything like that since the engagement lol!
