Ask a Question
How are you exiting?
I've never been to a wedding where everyone throws the rice and waives good-bye to the newlyweds, so how do i get that fairy tale effect?

Here's what i want: I want all of our families and friends blowing bubbles as we exit the venue, then waiving good-bye as we drive off in a really hot vintage convertible corvette, with us waiving back (Steel Magnolias was my inspiration since i was about 5 haha!)

Here's what i was thinking:

Our ceremony is at 1(unfortunately) and we will have the reception at 3. SO i was thinking that since people will start to leave around 7ish, we will have the DJ announce that the last song will be at 6:30 and we will see the newlyweds depart at 7. I think everyone will stick around for that if we let them know ahead of time, so we dont get people leaving at all different times.

What do you guys think? What are you all doing for your dramatic exits? Are you doing it after the ceremony/before the reception, if so how does that work?

That sounds cute...

We are having our reception on the 27th floor of a hotel that nearly everyone will be staying at.  So we don't have any options to "Exit the building," unless we want to fake it...but we don't want to do that!

We've decided that we really don't want the hotel shoving people out so we are going to let everyone know that when the last song comes on,  to begin to leave and we'll continue to party across the street at Pleasure Island if they are interested in attending (obviously minus my wedding gown and ONLY for a short period of time on our part)...

So our last song is going to be "Low Rider" by War.  We plan on also telling our bridal party to "dance their way" out of the room really cool and slow like the song and give the people the hint "hey...let's go and keep on partying!"

as we alk back down the isle they will throw rose petals from cones at us. We are taking a cinderella coach from the ceremony to the reception. our reception ends at 5pm so early! we are leaving to florida the next day so i guess we will be getting ready for that afterwards. we thought of going to disneyland with all the guests after the reception but this weddings turining out to be more expensive then we expected. ( what else is new)

just a suggestion, a wedding planner told me that the bride and groom should leave an hour to hour and half before the reception is about to end. You don't want people leaving before YOU leave. So maybe you should leave around 6 'oclock then you can have your ful effect without your guest leaving with you!!
