Mother-In-Law's dress
I wanted to know everyone's opinion on this matter. Is it necessary for the mother-in-law to wear a dress that coordinates with the wedding colors?? I have a friend getting married and she got really upset that her mother-in-law purchased a non-coordinating dress for the wedding. Is it that big of a deal?

What are you doing up so early??? I wish I was sleeping right now! anyway........ about this........ did you see the wedding show where the brides MIL wore a red dress?? I just started watching these wedding shows and they are RIDICULOUS, it was hilarious! They did not want her to wear it because she would stick out like a sore thumb in all the wedding pix, she wore it anyway. I think you should let her wear what you want, unless you really then girl good luck telling her! Is she real cool? I hope so :) Kevin's mom is very cool.

I'd say that it depends on two things:

1) What each mother wants / feels good in, and

2) What you want.

One thing my Mom mentioned was that she would wait for me to pick out a BM dress colour before she chose her dress colour.  She thought it would look tacky if either mother wore something too similar to the BMs.

my future MIL is wearing purple.  purple of all colors.  but then of course we hate each other so this makes absolutely perfect sense to me...

I always get up early, even on the damn weekends!  My future MIL is a lesbian who likes to wear cargos and t-shirts all day long so I don't know if its asking too much for her to buy a dress AND get it in the color I want.  But I don't want her messing up my pictures either.  We are not super tight so hopefully she will be receptive to what I want.

i think you dont have a whole lot of say in it, unless your real close. my mother in law is wearing poka dots :( i'm trying to stear her away from that. but personally i think they shouldnt match but be in the same color hue. if your maids a chocolate maybe she could consider latte or a goldish color?

Ooooh thats a tough one! I would say ask her to go dress shopping with you and then you can suggest different things & urge her to try them on. I would just tell her then that you would like everything to flow for pictures.

I didn't care AT ALL!! She asked if she could wear black and it happened to be one of the colors, I told her to do what ever made her comfortable! My mama wore eggplant and it wasn't a color, but still looked great!!
