Wedding Invitation
DIY invitations and guest list finalised!

This is my mock up of our wedding invitation - it's a wallet invitation and will have our names and wedding date printed on the right hand corner below where the ribbon sits. The ribbon slips off and it's opened to reveal the invitation.

What do you think?

We only want a small wedding and I have a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins who all expect an invitation so it's been difficult finalising a guest list. I've managed to work it in a way that I invite aunts and uncles and only a couple of cousins who I actually see on a regular basis. At first I didn't think I could invite all aunts and uncles so asked my mum who she would choose and she advised me of a couple of people who probably wouldn't come - so my guest list is 2 people over our original plan - on the assumption that not everyone will rsvp yes. It is a bit of a risk but worse case scenario I can fit the extras in somewhere and best of all everyone is happy!

Our limit was 33 (35 including us) but I'll be inviting 35 so if everyone comes it will be 37 and i'll have to squeeze some extra chairs in!

Has anyone else invited more than what they can accommodate and hoped that not everyone rsvps yes?

Now that is sorted I just have to worry about the ones who will be cranky when they realised kids aren't invited...

I want a smallish wedding too. We only invited really close family and cousins we see on a regular basis. We are paying for everything ourselves and you have to save where you can! Plus I didn't want a bunch of people i barely know at my wedding. I am inviting a bit more then I anticipate the guest list to be (80) and I'm expecting 70-75. There's people you know (older aunts, and uncles) would be offended if they didn't get an invite but I know they probably won't trek the 2 hour drive to come to the wedding. Not having kids either! I'm not sure how everyone will feel about that because WE have a kid, but he's 8 and very well behaved. Btw, the invitations look great!

You did an excellent job on the invites!  I can tell that you put quite a bit of work into them:)  The process can take a while.

I think we have went over our limit of guests.  The venue we have can hold up to 400 people and that is squeezing them in there!  The thing is my financees' family lives in western Iowa and my family lives in Eastern Iowa and we're having our wedding where we live now which is in central Iowa.  We figured we have lived in this area for at least 5-8 years, so why not?  This is our home now:)  Anyways, I invited over our amount because I know that quite a few people will not come because of the traveling reason!  So, we invited about 410 people just a little over the limit.  I would think just by inviting 2 extra people shouldn't be too big of a deal......I'm sure you'll have some extra room for them:)

We had 2 small weddings and the last one was much bigger.  I think the invites are gorgeous! Don't worry what the guests thinks?  It will be fabulous!
