Eye Doctors - The computer made me blind! - MRSROSE2B's Orange Wedding by Color Blog

Well not totally, I went to the eye doc. today to get some more contacts. I was there for 2 and 1/2 hours!! They did all the stuff and then they gave me a trial pair of glasses to try on and I couldn't see anything! Everything was blurry and in doubled.
Then the doc asked if I have been spending a lot of time on the computer.....

Uhhhh DUH! I said I'm planning a wedding, I work on a computer all day and I am a nerd so Yes. I average maybe 8-10 hrs a day on a computer.

So in the end I had to have my eyes dilaited and I walked away with a pair of hot pink computer glasses... The doc. said my eyes were focused for computer reading that is why i was having trouble viewing things far away!
Go figure!!

So if you are have been getting headaches or feel that your eyes are strained and notice a change in your vision, pick up some reading glasses and use them when you are on the computer! Mine are only +1 s but I already notice a difference!

Yikes! I'm probably on that path. Do you wear those as well as contacts? I spend so much time on the computer because I am home basically all day (babysitting recently) and I get so bored!! Plus I am already basically blind and I swear my vision just gets worse every time I go to the eye doctor anyway... Are the reading glasses very expensive?

Hey the same thing happened to me. I developed a stye on my eye, redness and headaches. I am on the computer about 8-10 hours a day as well. So finally I went to the eye doctor and he told me it was some sort of computer symdrome. I had to order glasses and take eyedrops 3 or more times a day. Not to mention he said for me to look off for 10 mins after each hour to dialate my eyes back to normal....

I completely feel your delimma.

Yeah i have to wear contacts too, I have really bad vision! I think I paid $20 for my reading glasses at Lenscrafters. You can get them at a drug store too. The first time I did the eye test it said I was a -7.75 with a stigmatism and then they dialated my eyes and when we re did the test I was back down to a 6 with no stigmatism! So crazy! My eyes feel so much better now and I can actually read signs again!

I decided to get lasik just before the wedding and I am so glad I did.

I still use a 1.50+ reading glasses for computer.
