Bridesmaids

Now my entire wedding party is out of town except one who has been my BFF since 4th grade, you would think since we live 20 mins away from one another, she would be my most helpful BM.. NOTTTTTT. She has not really helped w/ anything besides the picking of the BM dresses. She always sounds sooo helpful but when I call and need her for something it's "I have to work, I am chilling w/ my BF, I am tierd from school" WELL DAMN, at what point can I get that help you always talk about giving!!!! uhhhh.. My second BM (clears throat) my formerly second BM who I recently dismissed from the wedding lives in MI and she and I have been friends since 8th grade. She was the main one super excited to be in the wedding before we even got a date, "I better be in the wedding" I give her that opportunity and she thinks that she can tell me what she isn't going to do.. UHHHHH NOOOOO. Check this out, I asked everyone if they could afford about $250 to complete their look for the wedding, now this was asked in February. Everyone was cool w/ that price. Now all of a sudden she thinks that she is not going to wear makeup for what reason hell if i know, she wears make up to every club she's in on the weekends, and then she tells me she isn't going to wear the same shoes as everyone else, "just tell me the style of shoe I need" NO honey I will tell you what shoe you will be purchasing, then she has the audacity to tell me that she doesn't need her hair done b/c it will be done when she gets down here, ummm I beg your parton. There wil absolutely be NOOOOO micros, corn rolls, or any other braids in my photos. Then she hits me w/ the you know I have to get down there I don't have money like that I finally lost my cool w/ her and just told her that she will work better as a guest. OMG I was sooo out done considering she has been funding this guy on a regular that she met in Prison and now that his ass is out she can't get any of his time, it took everything in me to not tell her about herself. So that's one BM down. Now my last BM is succch a gift from God she and I have only known one another since like 2007 and when I say she is always "johnny on the spot" for ANYTHING I NEED. She is in AL which is about 2hrs from where I live in TN and she drove alll the way up here to join me at the cake tasting because the other BM decided that she didn't have enough gas to take the 20 min drive. LOL I am sooooo ready to be done dealing w/ them it's ridiculous. My maid of honor is my sister which has also been getting on my last nerves she too was not at the tasting, but not a big deal I know my nephew had other things going on but she just continues to add her opinions MY GOODNESS IF I DON'T ASK FOR AN OPINION PLEASE DON'T GIVE IT!!!!!! AAAAAHHHHHHHH.. Now I feel better lol had to vent for a second

Wedding Cake
Cake... Check
Hey ladies, I have secured my cake YAAAYYY!!!! I am sooo excited my mom, my most active BM (we will talk about that later) and my FH and I all attended the tasting. I was sooo expecting to be disappointed by the cakes but to my surprise she really had some good work, and the cake was delicious!!!! So my cake will be 4 tiers. and 2 flavors. My bottom layer will be a square the middle layer will be an octagon, and the top layer will be a circle there is a consistent design throughout the cake that the baker created, and the cascading flowers...The cake design is soooo elegant I can't wait to see the cake on wedding day!!! And the best part of it all is the cost OMG.. It was half of the budget thay my mom set aside for it... Everything is starting to come together.. Happy Planning Ladies!!

Wedding Reception
Venue... Check
So we have secured our venue. We will be getting married on the golf course in the rose garden and the reception will be at the same site just under the pavilion. It is sooo beautiful!!!! The rose garden has a really pretty waterfall that we are going to decorate w/ petals and candles. The pavilion has a fireplace that we will be decorating w/ dripless candles to give the effect of the fireplace being lit. I am sooo excited!!!!!! Next thing to check off my list is completing this pre-marital counseling. Are any of you guys doing pre-marital counseling? If so how do you handle not letting your differences define your relationship? FH and I don't have a lot of problems at all maintly because we are soooo much alike and we understand one another but our parenting style is very different from one anothers and we struggle big time w/ that.. I need advice ladies!! But in the meantime check out some of the pics of the venue yyyaaayyy!!!!!

Wedding Dress
Davids Bridal Sale!!!
So I haven't been on in a while because it seems like everything is speeding up on me. My BM and I went to look at dresses this weekend and I tried on what seemed to be 40 dresses. I absolutely loved picture 2 but Picture 1 had everything I dreamed of in a dress. I have this vivid picture in my mind of my sister lacing my dress up for me once I get it on. IDK why but that is just a great picture that I see all the time in my mind lol. Of course getting the dress did not go on w/out a hitch!!! The bridal consultant informed me that I had to purchase my dress on Saturday if I wanted to get that particular dress or it wouldn't come in on time. YIKES!!!! I was sooooo not prepared for that I had already scheduled an appointement with the venue to put down the deposit and after that I would be skating on thin ice until pay day!!!! BUT FH CAME TO THE RESCUE. (for my dress anyway). After nearly hyperventalating I was able to order and pay for my dress and it should be ready for alterations in June. Now the bridesmaids dresses were a little easier, they were able to work out their financial issues amongst themselves and everyone got their dresses ordered. (Everyone minus one but she has one foot out the door and the other touching the frame). But I can't be happier with my dress. YAAYYYY!!!

Wedding Cake
This is IT!!!!!
So I looked at this particular cake in January and fell for it right away. I haven't found anyone to make it yet but I love the design of the cake so I haven't looked at anyothers so that I won't change my mind lol... The detail is sooo pretty it's simple and elegant just what I was looking for in a wedding cake. Now I have to find someone that will make it taste as beautiful as it looks...

Wedding Change
STRESSED AND CONFUSED!!!
So we have decided to downgrade our wedding and move up the date.. Bring on the Stress!!!!!! So we are now trying to get married on August 14, 2010 and planning for about 75-80 guests. I am looking for a BEAUTIFUL VENUE that I can have both my reception and ceremony at.. Any suggestions?

The Proposal
So the proposal caught me off guard even though I was kind of expecting it b/c he can't hold WATER!!!! He gave me soooo many hints, I just wasn't sure if he was going to reallly ask... So we went to ATL for New Years Eve. We got there on the 29th and he had EVERYTHING planned out from the beginning of the 4 day trip to the end. We went to New York Prime and had dinner which by the way was AWESOME. The ride back to the hotel he con't saying that he was going to give me my "gift" tonight b/c he couldn't wait. We got back to the room and I hadn't paid him much attentin and laid across the bed he said " Babe you know I love you and I want you and De'Shaun (which is my son) to be apart of my life forever, and I want to know if you would marry me" And all I could do is laugh he was swetting and nervous, and my first reaction was laughter.. He was slightly angry lol he said "O my goodness she's laughing at me". I said no im not laughing AT you I just didn't expect this like this... He went to put the ring on my finger (which he put it on the wrong finger at first lol) and then I started crying!!!!!! And now here we are 17 months and counting!!! I am sooo excited that It all consumes me lol!!!!!
He picked out the most BEAUTIFUL RING I'm not a flashy person but I love sparkly pretty things lol.. And he did an awesome job!!!!!!! |

ENGAGEMENT PARTY WHEN????
So me and my FH are having somewhat of a long engagement when is a good time to have an engagement party? I am so overwhelmed by everything and I have 17 MONTHS to go, seems like I wake up and go to sleep thinking wedding!!!!! aaaahhhhh!!!! lol
