Wedding Reception
Is a Beer Keg tacky to have at a reception?

Ok the FH wants a beer keg at the reception to go along with the open bar. Are there any brides who are having a keg at their reception? I need help with this issue...

I dont think its tacky at all. Its the cheapest way to buy beer and if your the one paying the guests shouldn't have a gripe. We were going to have kegs until we changed our venue and they dont allow alcohol at all. I say if thats what FH wants let FH have it. =)

We are for sure having a keg. Tacky or not. lol
My guest would rather have a keg than nothing at all, which would be the other option since we are paying for the reception ourselves.

I agree not tacky at all. Your wedding, your dime. Plus most FH's ask for very little...make him proud!

The FH and I are planning on doing a keg as well!  They way I figure...beer is beer, and if you really want to drink it, you'll drink whats available......besides, what's the difference between serving draft at your reception, or them going down to a lougne and drinking draft there?! Not tacky at all!!

We are going to add two beer kegs to our reception package at the festival we are getting married at. One domestic and one import.  YAY!

we're not having a beer keg BUT i would if we could afford it. As long as you're not having a super formal wedding, I'd say go for it!! I think the idea is great and people will love it.

Heck no! That's almost all they serve back where I'm from. We had about a 225-275 guest list and we went through 5 kegs. But that was the only alcohol besides champagne we served too.

hell no it's not tacky.... well as long as you don't have it out in the open and people are pumpng their own glasses and people start doing keg stands!!! lol and i'm sure you are not  having  that happen! but no it's not tacky... it is the cheapest why to buy beer and a lot of people like keg beer better than canned or bottled... we are having a keg or 2, or 4! lol!
