Wedding Reception
Interactive Guest book

I've found a great idea for my guest book that would go wonderfully with my vintage theme. I am thinking about having guest type their entries for the guest book using a typewriter. I think it would be best to have two set out on the guest book table (to forego the formation of a line) for guest to type their special messages. I liked the idea because I thought it would be entertaining for guest and give them something to do during the cocktail hr prior to the reception or during the reception. Im also thinking about having my ushers take polaroids of each guest to add to their entry in the final guest book that I will make from guest responses. Now...the question is, where can I find an antique typewriter? The search is on!

I found mine at a flea market. That would be your best bet - i always see them at different markets. It's a traveling typewriter from the late 30's and i only paid about $40(cnd). I was going to use it as my guest book, but decided it may be a bit of a hassle....like some people taking to long, can't load the paper, don't know how to use it etc. So, instead i'm putting on a table and people can type messages to us, marital advice, wishes etc... and have a regular guestbook in the lobby/entrance...it'll be easier and faster that way.
I do love the idea though...i have loads of pics of different typewriter guest book set-ups...i'll send them to you if you want.
