Wedding Cake
I NEED VOTES!!! what do you think?

Okay..we are metting with our cake artist on sat..she makes awesome cakes! so yummy! i thought i had my mind made up.....but like everything else in this wedding...i changed my mind. i love this idea!......

#1...an all Black cake!! pic 1...with fushia/hot pink gerber daisy as in picture 2. Do you think thats to much for a wedding!!! be honest should i not have an all black cake.

or......

#2....a cake like pic #3 with the fushia/hotpink gerbers coming up! and the W's around the cake like in pic #5

or...

#3....a cake like pic #4 NO DOTS ...and not so hot pink! with the fushia gerbers coming up.

If you look at my blog or are familar with my wedding..everything is black and fushia! and the main flower is the gerber daisy! Iam really the only thing white..or i should say ivory!

***i also have a letter W cake topper in silver that i think iam going to bring out a bit with fushia and black rhinestones!***

Im not so sure about the all black cake - maybe you can decorate the white cake with ribbon and black rhinestones and black w.
honestly it depends what your style is. They are all gorgeous. Just choose what you think you would like. Or pretend you are the guest - would you like it?

Honestly...I don't like the black cake at all, I think it's too much for a wedding. I do really like the pink and black cake, and it would look awesome with the silver cake topper.

I really like the idea of #3! I wouldn't do an all black cake, that's a whole lotta black icing that will probably make everyone's teeth look black in pictures!

i agree with ngrasho, black icing will probably turn everyone's mouth black :( otherwise i don;t think there's anything wrong with it being black if that's what you want.

I love the pink and black cake with poke a dots. This way you keep your pattern of nothing white without having the extreme black cake I think it looks so cool and different.

I personally am more for the whole idea of a white cake...so I actually LOVE the idea of #2.  Im afraid if you have a pink cake and try to have the colored gerber daisies it might not pop as much if you had a white cake with Bright fusia gerber daisies.

i think the black cake is gorgeous... it's modern and so different from the average wedding cake.  however, with that said you should definitely keep in mind that black icing can lead to black teeth (yikes!).  perhaps you could have the catering or restaurant staff peel off the layer of black fondant after cutting the cake?  just an idea... our wedding is black, white & red and originally i was wanting some black on the cake but ended up settling for black grosgrain ribbon around the bottom of the layers instead of black frosting...

I really like #2, but I am more traditional when it comes to the cake...I agree with most everyone else..no black cake... it just looks like it would taste disgusting and it doesn't really give off a very "happy" vibe.

black icing turns your mouth black for quite awhile and the taste is awful. you may consider another route. I had a white cake.. BUT.. with black PIPING all over it.. so that there wasn't too much black to color our mouths... and she used buttercream icing and non flavored food coloring so you couldn't really taste the black icing. it looks neat.. but it doesn't taste nice or like the camera.

I have done the square cakes in baby blue with chocolate dots and white gerber daisies on top.  You will know when you see a cake you like.

By the way, I also do wedding cakes.  The black turns your mouth black and can be bitter..
