One day after work, Shon asked me was I very tired. Of course since he works away from home I didnt want to disappoint him. I told him no I wasnt tired because I assumed he had something planned. Then we hopped in the car and he took me to pick out the my ring. I asked him why didnt he surprise me. He then reminded me of when he paid 400.00 for a coach purse that I took back. LOL

I'm so happy he let me pick out my ring. It is a 2 carat (reasonable) white gold with round diamonds circling the princess cut center. Awww....to die for. I love you honey.

Ladies, what is your take on this? Which would you prefer a surprise or would you rather have the chance to pick out your ring? Comment me!

Although I wouldn't have personally selected the ring that my FI got me, I wouldn't take anything away from the fact that it meant enough to him to do his best "without me".  Ummm...not always a good thing, BUT, I do love him for it, & I also now really love my ring!  I don't like surprises, so Id rather him include me all the way, or completely leave me out of it, which is what happened! LOL. :)

I told him from the begininng that I wanted to be surprised and I definatley was lol. Althought just as gratefulbride said she wouldn't have picked out what he had I probably wouldn't have either but  I still love the thing and think he did a great job without me!

i asked for a plain solitare ring. and then had it custome made into a ring very much like yours :)  so we both did it really. and now it's 2.5 instead of .5 :)

My fiance' surprised me and truthfully i absolutely love his pick. It's even more special that he picked it out all by himself. lol
Don't get me wrong...There is nothing wrong with picking it yourself either, Some guys don't know what us girls like and want to make sure it's what you really want. :)

He is letting me pick it out so I can have exactly what I want and I'm ok with that cause his and my taste on jewlery really clash lol.

We Were Engaged Before.......Long Story Short...He Picked A Ring That Was Gold, With A Marquie Cut Diamond And Two Triangle Cut Yellow Diamonds On The Sides. I Don't Wear Yellow Gold That Much, Pefer White, And The Yellow Diamonds, Though I Love Them, Looked Dingy On A Yellow Gold Band. I Didn't Know They Were Yellow Until A Jewelry Store Clerk Cleaned Them For Me And Told Me. I Am Now Getting To Tell Him What I Like And I Will Be Much Happier!

I picked out my ring way b4 the proposal so whe i got the ring it will stilla surprise because i had forgotten what i had picked out...so it was kinda like he had a lil imput in it because i took over the most important parts(carat size and type of metal)

I would want him to surprise me. I told him what I wanted and he actually picked out a ring that was extremely close to what I tried on! he did well!!
