Anyone having a Second line Reception? It is so much fun!

I live in Baton Rouge, LA. But were definitely doing the second line!!!
My girls are making there own secondline umbrellas... But i wanna get mine made.. What is the number or the website of the person who creates the umbrellas

What's a second line? Sounds like a cool wedding tradition.

I'm in Baton Rouge too. We go back and forth about it because if we do it we want to do it right. I've seen second line bands at receptions and I've seen it with the dj playing. I would rather the band but I want something local and cheap or at least not too expensive. What band are you going with or are you going with a dj?

I have a friend who is a member in a Social and Pleasure(Second Line) Club. You can find these bands on Face book she says. Her recommendations were:
Hot 8,
Rebirth Brass Band,
Stoogers,
Soul Rebels,
Free Agents
my favorite are rebirth and Hot 8, soul rebels. yes I want a Jazz Band but 1/2 hour will probably cost 400. you can check the prices yourself. If my budget is over I'll ask the DJ to just play second line songs at the end of the ceremony?

I like hot 8 and rebirth too. Thats what's making me feel like if we do the cd it won't come off as well. They are not in the budget! If we do it we'll go with the dj and have the cute umbrellas.

I would pick my favorite Second Line songs.{Do what you wanna?} Make sure everyone have a hankerchief,or (Luncheon) napkin. Let the DJ play it !

@msdarlene I'll pick out the songs I like and let the dj play them because I looked at both Facebook pages and that made me want them more. I like mrsmayfield2b's idea about letting the girls make their own and it could kinda be a gift or keepsake after the wedding. I may just have that as something to do when we get together the weekend of my shower. It would be too expensive to order theirs off ebay, maybe mine and the FH. Is there another person that makes them? Whats a good store to buy the supplies from?
