How much will your bridal party dresses cost?

I found this dress and fell inlove with it? I would love to have a dress custom made for me since this dress doesn't come in white? Maybe I'll consider it as a choice for my Bridesmaids. But the price is over 400.00. Is this dress to expensive? A great dress for the ceremony and reception.

My bridesmaids paid $76 for their dresses. $400 for a bridesmaid dress does seem like a lot, but that's just me.

My bridesmaid paid around 150 for theirs...they wouldn't have been happy paying $400

def way too expensive to ask somone to pay. HOWEVER if YOU are paying for it all then go for it! . I dont think you should ask your friends to pay over 200.00 maximum. Everyone is under differant financial circumstances. You could buy a wedding dress for that much.

I had budgeted 200 for each girls dress, and they found one that they liked reduced to 50.00each on a dress sale. If I didnt buy it they all wanted to buy it anyway. They are really good quality fabric too and the girls look great. you can do things for cheaper but def think 400 is way too much.

i also think that $400 is too much to asked everyone to pay.  i am having to pay $200 for my sisters wedding and i dont even really like that lol.  but i am prolly going to try and keep my girls under $100 (if possible) because we are just going to do a beach wedding.

I've only known one bride personally who picked dresses for her girls that were over $200. She wanted them in Vera Wang and she ended up paying for half the cost on each of them so that the girls could afford it. My girls dresses ranged in cost from $130-$170. I wouldn't have asked them to pay anymore than $200 at the absolute most- ideally, the cheaper the better but they all got dresses they loved. I'd actually be pissed and I'd step down if someone asked me to fork out $400 for a dress I'd wear the one time at their wedding and then never be able to wear again, or even really sell it for what I paid for it.

My girls paid 150 and I felt really bad, but they all agreed the dress was worth it. I think that dress is beautiful, but 400 might be to much to ask of them. It depends on the situation, if they're all wealthy of if you plan on helping out than go for it, it'll look awesome! But otherwise, I think something a bit more wallet friendly will still look beautiful

the dress is nice but $400 is a bit much.  My girls are picking their own dress from ALFRED ANGELO.  I told them satin and the color, and pick what they can afford or want.  Keep in mind your girls still have to get shoes, make up, and their hair done.  You may be asking your girls to pay almost $700 up to a $1000 if you include your bridal shower and bacherlorette party.

Take it easy on them :) they will thank you later.

I dont think this is a suitable dress for a BM, as wedding dress or grad dress yes...but you dont want your BM's to overpower you and this will do that. YOU are the star haha. I think its pretty tho! but yes expensive. my girls dresses cost them $200, this was about average.

Look like I was about to make an incrediable mistake asking friends and family to pay this amount for a dress? I promise to reconsider asking friends and family to pay for an expensive dress w/ other expenses they will have to cover. I hope we will find dresses that will make everyone happy (price and style). I'll keep your prices in mind when dress shopping $50-$200.

I agree $400 is pretty steep. I also agree this dress will over power you.  Trust you will find one that is just as pretty for a lot smaller price tag.  Happy hunting!!
