Ok so I have decided that I still love my original planof purple and damask. What I did add was an additional light purple to go with the dark purple. Does this sound like too much going on? Also, my venue already has solid black banquet chairs, do I really need chair covers? My plan was to do a black floor length table cloth with a dark purple overlay and light purple napkins...It sounds good in my head, but I will make a final decision when I do my mock up at the sight...so many decisions uuggghhh

Wedding Reception
Finally on track and making progress!
Hello again! We had to push back our wedding due to a series of family issues and personal drama rama, but I'm so happy to saw we only grew stronger through it all! So now we have a concrete wedding date of 2/18/12, and today I locked in our reception venue! Super duper excited, I looked a little off the beaten path and found a great place that includes the linens that I wanted and a luncheon price of 18.50/pp!! not bad at all. Let the planning and DIY begin!!

Which color?!
Okay so I think I'm going to change my venue to Maggianos! They have great italian food and offer ALOT for the money....only thing is, my damsk and purple them would absolutely not work in thier banquet room :( They have dark wood floors, paneling, and chairs, with Ivory linens. I was thinking of doing chocolate, ivory, and red...but my church has purple chairs! Am I making a mountain out of a molehill? will anyone notice the purple chairs lol? I really wanted to get married in church...

What are you all doing for favors? At first I thougt maybe some playing cards and chocoloate "poker" chips you know to go with the whole vegas thing, then I thought of the ever popular candy bar, but nothing is jumping out at me....my FI loves sweet potato pie so I thought of making mini pies?

ok so i am a little computer challenged. I went to dafont.com and found some fonts i like, it asked me if i wanted to save them...ok and then what? how do I get to use them? |

 Overall look Center tall cylinder damask votive candles ribbon wrapped cylinder, I wouldn't do so much though this is trombone brides vase wrap and I thought it 'd be really cute on either the two side cylinders or the large cent one. but since it has the flowers maybe that would be too much?      |

Okay so I've been working on my centerpiece idea and here is what I have so far (I'm such a thief, honestly I took like 4 other peoples ideas and put them together,is that bad? )
1 tall cylinder with a tissue paper pomander (3.99 before coupon at Michaels) (pomanders are 2/4in for $1 at lv discount store, so is 20x26 tissue paper) 2 shorter cylinders with floating candles (1$ each at .99 store) 2 groups of 3 votives wrapped in damask (tape or vellum) (7.99 before coupon at michaels, tape is 8 bucks for a roll) Total cost per table after coupons is $8 or $9 bucks for 7 or 8 tables I believe the main photo is from Marta12's wedding |

Narrowing down venues
I haven't been on in a while, because I've been out scouting sites. Its proving a little difficult to find a traditional venue in Vegas that is not an arm and a leg. We're looking to invite 70 to 75 people and stay under 6000....I want it to be nice though. I didn't think it would be this hard! I think I am pretty settled on the Santa Fe Hotel and Casino.Its newly remodled and has a very pretty ballroom set up. The coordinator is a little snippy, but the brunch is 20 per person for 4 hours which I have not been able to beat.

edit: So after much concentration I have determined that these are actually paper flowers! I have found my cylinders and googled martha so now I'm on to the trial and to find CHEAP styrofoam balls....
I saw this in another brides blog on here, and she must be pink! I really love this idea and I had some questions I wanted to ask if she didn't mind helping me out. Help! |

Getting Started
I stumbled across this site and it has been the MOST help! I have snatched quite a few pics, so if you see one of yours pop up please let me know and I will credit you for the inspiration. I wasn't going to blog, but I figure this might be helpful to put things all in one spot. I am doing purple (every shade!) black and white damask, and silver accents (chargers, etc). I am thinking it is going to be very pretty and elegant. Or at least that's my gaol.
