Wedding Cake
how does the cake taste after 1 year?
HEY WBC LADIES!
I was just wondering if anyone has had their cake yet after 1 year. My brother and sister in law got married Oct 3, 2009 and their one year is coming up quickly. Well, i have the cake stored in my freezer; and im debating if i should have a back up plan. I was gonna go to Jewel and get a little cake made like their cake they had at the their wedding. something fresh b/c too me eating year old cake is nasty. Chris and I are throwing them a surprise 1 year party. So should i get them a small cake and have a plan B? We will def be looking at the cake and maybe taking tiny tiny tiny bites out of it, but i dont know if it will be great tasting. It worries me. LOL |

When asked about the origin of the strange sounding name, the Shillington-Smiths who are the present owners of the estate gave this explanation. The estate was owned by Baron de Micoud who was a Governor of the island during one of its many occupations by the French. When the Governor realized that the English had re-captured the island, he willed the property to his wife who was a Saint Lucian, knowing that according to British law the property could not be taken away from her. Mrs. de Micoud was called Ma Micoud by the locals, and gradually the estate was referred to in Kweyol as “Plantasyon Ma Miku” until it was simply called Mamiku – a name that has survived long after her death. Mamiku Gardens was opened to the public in 1998 and has been designed for the nature lover who enjoys hiking in the woods. There are over 400 flowers and trees together with a special garden of traditional medicinal herbs to be seen and admired along a trail that may sometimes be a little challenging. However, there are wooden benches erected along the trail to take the strain off tired feet and as havens to reflect on the serenity of the surroundings. The place of Mamiku Estate in Saint Lucia’s history has been cemented by the tangible evidence that has been unearthed during the ongoing archaeological dig that is being conducted. The artifacts that have been gathered from the excavations have been attractively displayed in a small interpretation centre. Other physical structures such as the foundations of some of the buildings that were erected during the days of slavery can be easily detected, so that one is able to re-construct the layout of the plantation. Pictures may be worth a thousand words but these pictures do not tell the complete story about the estate. A visit to the gardens will rejuvenate the body and mind as the different smells and sights are absorbed through the senses and one is given a new lease on life. |

so i have been doing a lot of thinking and i have had a major color change of heart.
i know i said i wanted the whole " princess diamond pink & pearls wedding" but now that i look at it i want my wedding to be remembered and i want to have that princess diamond fall wedding. i have completely changed my colors. hey im a 2011 bride im allowed to have a change of heart, its not like im getting married in 6 months or next weekend. its 700 days away. =] NEW COLORS <3 Truffle, Red, Champagne & Orange w/ accents of White and Silver I love fall. When i see trees filled with orange and red leaves i just melt. i get a feeling of happiness and love of the season. thats how i want my wedding to be. =] im very excited for this new change and i know everyone in my wedding will look amazing. =] |
