My story:
I went to the doctor for a regular check up maybe Aug. 2006 and the scale said 278. I was so shocked because I knew I was big, but I did not know I was a hamburger a way from 300. I was not sure how to lose weight and stick to it. I have always been the person to lose 5 and gain 10 y'all know what I mean. I did not want to do anything drastic with out researching a good diet plan. Until I figured it out, I cut back on fast-food and cold drinks (soda). I ate a little bit more fruit, but I was not on a diet. I ate less because I did not want to gain any more weight. I did not really start a work out plan. I would just take the 3 flight of stairs at the library, park my car at the end of any parking lot, and walk around Wal-Mart about 3times.
Anyway, I went back to the doctor about 4- 5 months later and the scale said 274, and I was like how the hell did that happen? I did not even really try, so I said to myself maybe I could do this. I came to the conclusion that I would have to make my own diet plan because I did not really want it to just be a diet; I wanted it to be a life change. Majority of all the diet plans are only for short term, and my goal is long term. I am terrified of diet pills, so I dont take them.
I researched stuff on nutrition. I have a big huge book that I created with tips in it about losing weight, eating healthy and exercising. There is so much good information in it. I have learned how to eat and what to eat, and I am still learning.
Anyway, I got serious around May 2007. I started a workout plan everyday walking on the treadmill for about 30 minutes. I did the bike for about 30 minutes, and I would lift weights about 20 minutes. I cut OUT all fast-food and cold drinks. Then, I doubled my work outs to about two times a day and within a week and a half I lost about 15 pounds. Of course, the weight slowed down; nevertheless, I started to really focus on my food intake.
As of now, I am really trying to stay in my range, and I (try) to workout five times a week for an hour, and I strength train (at least I try) twice a week. I also (try) to do a hundred crunches on my ball everyday. My main goal RIGHT NOW is not to gain weight. I have so much school work that it is hard for me to focus on losing weight right now, so my focus is NOT to GAIN any weight!
Before I joined sparks, I lost 68 on my own. Since sparks I have lost 32 lbs, all together I lost 100lbs, and I have made my first goal of 178. I love sparks, and I can not imagine myself without it
I tell everybody about sparks!
My first weight loss goal is 178 which would be 100lbs since I started. I have completed that goal. Now, I am trying to complete my weight loss goal number 2 which is 154 the healthy weight range. After that goal, I will try to reach my final weight loss goal of 148. All together that would be a weight loss of 130 which is another person!!
