My fiance and I met online 2 years ago. I had just ended a relationship so I wasn't looking for anything serious, especially online. I rarely checked my online pofile, and when I did it was just for entertainment from the crazy messages I received. His message in particular was different. It was very sweet and sincere, no B.S. I normally got from guys only interested in a "good time". So I decided to write him back. We exchanged numbers, talked on the phone for hours, and I felt so comfortable with him. We went out on our first date a few days laters (have to write about our very interesting date in another post).
Fast forward 2 years and we're still happy. The morning of my 29th birthday (3/3/12), my then boyfriend made me breakfast in bed. Something he does often, he's such a sweetie. Then he took me to get a manicure & pedicure, eye brow waxing, etc. I felt so pampered & relaxed. He seemed a bit strange that entire morning, but it never occured to me he had plans to propose. My parents were hosting a birthday party for me later that evening so I decided to go shopping for something to wear to the party. My fiance mentioned he was going to the mall with his mother to buy me a gift and I told him I would meet him there because I wanted to find something to wear. On my way to the mall I made a few stops at stores I passed along the way and I didn't have any luck. I ended up settling on a leopard print half shoulder shirt & black leggings. It was cute but not what I wanted.
I still decided to continue on to the mall in hopes of finding a cute sexy dress. When I got to the mall I called to see where he was and he seemed to send me on a wild goose hunt. He never gave me a definate answer as to wear his location was in the mall and it always seemed we were at opposite ends of the mall. I just thought he didn't want me to see him buying me somthing from victoria's secret or bath & body works. Eventually he told me to meet him in the food court for lunch. When I spotted him he was standing across from a jewelry store and he looked very surprised to see me walk up. I didn't think anything of the jewelry store, but wondered by he looked surprised to see me when he knew I was meeting him there for lunch. I had lunch with him & his mom, then I had to leave right after to pick up my own mother.
Later that night at my parents house, it seemed like all my guests were running late. No one was there on time. My fiance called and said he was on his way. Wehn he arrived he asked if I wanted my gift now or later...of course I said "NOW". He told me to call my parents in, which I did. He pulled out a little silver box. It still didn't occur to me there could be a ring in there, I just thought it was earrings or would be a joke. Then he explained how much he loves me and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. He was so nervouse & was shaking. He opened the box and I saw the most beautiful ring inside. He was so nervous that my mom had to tell him to get down on one knee, which he quickly did. Of course I said yes. Still nervous, I had to tell him to put the ring on my finger! My battery was dead on my camera, so my parents were trying to take pictures of us with their phones. It was the most hilarious site as neither of them could work their flip phones (yes they are behind in time). I guess we didn't make it any better handing over our smart phones to them for better pictures. Finally our friends & family arrived and I showed off my ring and we danced the night away!
