Wedding Planner - Floral consultation & Cake tasting - MZ2HANDGRIP's Blue Wedding by Color Blog

I've been so busy at work as a grant writer...it can get really stressful & very busy at times. But somehow i always find time to check out WBC, update my wedding website & schedule wedding appointments! LOL. Anyway, while trying to get as much done as soon as possible i scheduled my floral consultation & cake tasting on the same day a few hours apart. Both will take place this Saturday with the floral consultation at 10:30am and the cake tasting on the opposite side of town at 2:00pm. I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for as far as floral. I'm pretty open to the suggestions of the florist, my mother & my MIL, since they will be joining me. I don't have much of a budget for flowers, so i'm hoping they can work their magic. They also do rentals of vases, centerpieces, silk pomanders, etc. Hopefully I can use some of those to cut costs. If any of you have had your floral consultation yet, what should I expect & what type of questions did you ask?

As far as the cake tasting, I'm really looking forward to it! Not sure what kind of combinations I want. All I know is I love red velvet and my fiance loves chocolate. I have a few designs picked out that I love and maybe I'll do each tier a different flavor or just get him a chocolate groom's cake. So many decisions!!! If you've had your cake tasting, what type of questions should I ask? I have a list, just don't want to miss anything!

This will be such an overwhelming day, besides the cake tasting and floral consultation I also have a friend's bridal shower to attend, soon after that i have to leave early to make it to a baby shower! This is going to be quite a day!!!

Wow you a very busy lady lol Good luck with you floral consultation and your cake tasting. I did my own floral arrangements with a friend, but I did have someone make my cake pops. All I basically asked her was if my ideas were possible. If you have a vision or an idea of what you'd like it's always best to ask if they can make it happen and how. But be specific. I think you have a great idea there to get the groom's cake especially if he really likes chocolate.

This is going to have you super busy with all of the events and things coming up, but it's going to be super exciting and fun. Stay positive!

Thanks! I am interested in what the florist quotes me, because if its ridiculous I will be doing all of my own floral as well. I'm a pretty creative person but I'm afraid with the demands of my job and taking care of home I just won't have the time to put into getting it done. I don't have a very reliable wedding party, due to some of them being in different cities and their own demanding schedules. Hopefully it works out!

Im curious about the price of a florist also. I don't know much about it either. I'm thinking of just have real flowers for myself only. I feel they might be too expensive and they'll just die anyway ;)
good luck. That was a lot to fit into one day. I try to space things out a bit so it's not too overwhelming. sometimes it works, sometimes I overdo it. So enjoy your day!

I'll let you know how it turns out. They do alot of rentals of vases and silk flowers...so I might end up going with that option depending on how they look!
