We've also decided on the good ol' cupcake tower as well, only we're doing different variations of Tffany Blue Cake stands to platform the cupcakes, & then we'll have 1 cake for us to actually cut.  I love the lighthearted fun with the cupcakes, but at the same time they can be very elegant & beautiful, depending on the display.  Plus, it makes serving even easier!  I don't know if you're interested, but I have some cupcake wrappers somewhere (I think on the last page) of my blog that are pretty to use as well.
