Wedding Dress
...And I'm lovin' it!
Sorry it's taken me so long to update now that I'm married! Better late than never though!
Our wedding went wonderfully and there were no serious glitches or hitches that you often hear about! Many people said it was the smoothest wedding they ever went to. Of course they don't see behind the scenes!! hahaha. My biggest scare is when my junior bridesmaid showed up late wearing neon green flip flops and forgot to bring her shoes!!! I told her if they didn't come in time she would just have to walk barefoot. Luckily her dad brought them! The last half hour before the ceremony was the most stressful for me! To all you brides to be out there, best of luck with all your planning...it will pay off! And remember don't stress on your wedding day. Just enjoy yourself! You will only remember the good when you look back on the day I'll try to post more photos soon. I'm waiting to get the cd from my photographer. |

Tissue Balls! (Cheaper than lanterns!)
I snatched this idea from another bride, but I totally love it.
My cake is going to be in the center of the reception hall and I though if I hung 3 - 5 tissues balls at different lengths above the cake it would look amazing! What do you think? They also seem very simple to make...and cheap!!! How to Make the Pom-Poms You'll need tissue paper and 24-gauge white cloth-covered floral wire. Hanging Pom-Poms 1. Stack eight 20-by-30-inch sheets of tissue. Make 1 1/2-inchwide accordion folds, creasing with each fold. 2. Fold an 18-inch piece of floral wire in half, and slip over center of folded tissue; twist. With scissors, trim ends of tissue into rounded or pointy shapes. 3. Separate layers, pulling away from center one at a time. 4. Tie a length of monofilament to floral wire for hanging. |

Table Centerpieces
This first photo is my inspiration for my tables at the reception. Of course it will be less elaborate as I just cannot afford this. Some things are different as well.
Instead of brown linens we are just having ivory. The napkins will be chocolate brown. The vase itself will be an eifel tower vase like in the second photo. It is 18" (1.5ft) high which is tall and elegant! I read somewhere tall centerpieces give the wow affect as soon as you walk in the room, low centerpieces give the wow affect when you are at the table. The eifel tower vase will have 2 gerberas in it at different heights. (An ivory and pink gerbera) There will also be chocolate brown curly stuff sticking out. I tried it at a store and it looks awesome. Not as fancy as the first photo but alot nicer than the 2nd. You just have to trust me on this and try to imagine. The Vase will be placed on a 12" round mirror with 5 tealight candles placed around it! The whole setting looks gorgeous. Wine glasses, and bread plates will be on the table, with chocolate napkins, and maybe coffee mugs. I can't wait to see the finished product! To get the green on the table we will have our fudge wrapped in sage green tool with chocolate ribbon! I actually made a favour sample! They are so cute! I will have to take photos and post them. I also finished my isle runner monogram which looks awesome, and I'll post photos of all the fun things I got in the mail too! |

HELP! I can't decide between menus and I need to decide ASAP!
If you were a guest at our wedding which would you prefer??? Please do me a favour and read both. I really can't decide. Menu 1 is what we currently have, but it only has 1 meat which really bothers me. I chose it so we could have the chocolate fountain. Menu 2 is Greek (Yum). It has 2 meats, lamb skewers and chicken skewers.
MENU OPTION #1 Tableside: assorted crusty breads with creamy butter Buffet Dinner: wild greens with strawberries, pine nuts, goat cheese sweet pepper and wild rice pilaf herb roasted potatoes fricassee of summer vegetables slow roasted chicken quarters “Sweet Things” Milk chocolate fountain with biscotti and summer fruit MENU OPTION #2 Tableside: spiced chevre on grape tomato and humus pita bread Buffet Dinner: greek village salad a salad of tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, sweet peppers and lettuce with feta pasta salad of bacon, scallions, spring vegetable with a garlic pepper dressing herb roasted potatoes grilled chicken kabobs grilled lamb skewers “Sweet Things”: strawberry lemon shortcake Both menus have raspberry lemonade, organic coffee & organic tea *Update: I asked to have a second meat put on the first menu but it would be $5-$8 more per person. Would menu 2 be better if I did a chocolate fountain with the Greek? That's only a bit more expensive! |

Wedding Cake
I've finally decided! This is our cake!!!
Isn't this just e-x-q-u-i-s-i-t-e?!
I know it doesn't totally go with our wedding style but I love it sooooo much! I just have to have it. However instead of strawberries I will have pink rose buds which will draw in our color scheme. It is going to be in the place of honour...the center of the reception hall! I can't wait. :D I bought the cake topper in the 2nd photo. (of course in an R). I hope it won't be too much? Since Dave is not a big fan of chocolate and I don't like Vanilla we are going to do a carrot cake with cream cheese filling. This is what my mom did at her wedding so it is something special we can incorporate in to our wedding :) |

My Wedding Ceremony Inspirations
Photo 3 - I will have an isle runner leading up onto the platform. At the entrance to the sanctuary will be our mongram painted on. It will be the first thing people notice as they step inside to be seated.
Photo 2 - Next there eyes will be caught by tall iron topori holders from which pink/ivory flowers will be hanging with ivory or chocolate ribbon. It will look very similar to this photo. There eyes will continue up to the front where hopefully they will be stunned... The first photo is very similar to how the front decorations will look for my wedding. First off it is the same location our weding is taking place at. (Our decorations will not be as eleborate however since we cannot afford it.) Secondly I will be drapping fabric from the ceiling and drapping fabric on the stairs with candles. -For the back drop there will be 3 strips of ivory and 2 strips of chocolate satin so the backdrop will go ivory, chocolate, ivory, chocolate, ivory. The same as this photo except only 5 not 7. -I will have only 2 pillars with flowers on top covered in ivory satin. These will be placed in front of the chocolate fabric strips. Hanging in front if the ivory will be brown ribbon with a bunch/ball of pink daisies at the end. -The registry table will be covered in ivory satin. Simple - The stairs will be drapped with chocolate satin and have simple tealights on it with ivory rose petals scattered around. My bridesmaids will be in green and my flower girls in ivory. It will be so beautiful! I can't wait! The best part is my florist and decorations coordinator are totally on board for this and love these ideas! We work so well together. It is going to be simply amazing :) |

Bridal Party Emerg Kit! Any more suggestions???
I bought this cute little bag online for the wedding day for me and my girls. I was thinking of buying a big tote but liked this because it had a draw string. We are going to carry all our 'possible emergency supplies' in here!
Mints Gum Lotion Chapstick Lip gloss pads and tampons? Advil Bandaids/liquid bandaids* Tide stick Mini can of hairspray Bobby pins Safety pins Camera Cash Kleenex* nail clippers* tweezers* power/energy bar* bottled water* If there is room I may throw in a coupla granola bars or something too. I'm sure the girls will be bringing bags of their own stuff too. This is just the 'group' emerg bag! hehe I think it is so cute and such a great idea! You never know what may arise on the wedding day. Any thing I'm missing in this bag??? I'll star* anything I add from people's suggestions. The 2nd bag I bought as our beach tote for our honeymoon :) |

What are ya'll doing for Bridal Party Gifts? Here are my ideas!
Maid of Honor and Bridesmaids:
Necklace Pedicure (& possibly manicure) Monogramed pajamas?? It all depends how much money stuff costs, but pajamas would be fun for our girls night out we are having the weekend before the wedding!!! Flower Girls: I found the cutest flower girl t-shirts I ordered online. I just got them these morning! So adorable! Junior Bridesmaids: Engraved jewelery box I have yet to price this out so we will see. It all depends on how much it costs. Groomsmen: The KEG gift cards....men like nothing better than food! Well at least Dave's groomsmen. & they all love the Keg. However Dave's guys said they don't even expect anything so I'm leaving it up to Dave if he gets them gc's or not. Does this sound good to you girls? What are you doing?? |

Wedding Music!
I think I have it all figured out! Let me know what you girls think!!!
All my music will be live. I have musicians to play the piano, keyboard, trumpet,
flute, guitar, bass, and drums! Very exciting. PRELUDE: Various instrumentals (mostly clasical) whatever Ryan my pianist wants Also including "Only Hope" and "You Raise Me Up" right before the ceremony begins PROCESSIONAL: Entrance of the Groom and Groomsmen: "I Can Only Imagine" by MercyMe ... I love the first verse. Entrance of the Bridesmaids: "Canon In D" by Pachebel...played by Ryan with various other instruments probably piano, strings and maybe flute Entrace of the Bride!: Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring!! (copying version by Celtic Women) The one on my playlist is totally not the right version. Listen to the youtube video below. These girls sound like angels. Anyway I don't want singing as I walk down the isle, but I love this song with a PASSION! However it wasn't quite right just as an instrumental. So I am walking down the isle to the beginning of it including the singing, except it will be played live of course. It will start out as instrumental (strings) and then exactly the way it is in the song my MoH will sing/hum the first part (lalalaaaaaalalalaaaaalalaaaala etc). She will then stop and the song will continue playing in instrumental until I am at the front. It will be so perfect! Rachel has the prettiest, lightest voice and takes voice lessons for professional singing! I tried walking to a bunch of different songs and none of the others were quite right. This one made me smile sooooooo much! I love it! :) Signing of Registry: "When God Made You" by Newsong - Ryan and his sister Shanna will be singing this. They are both very talented and sound awesome together. This song has some cheesy parts but it means alot to me. The part where the girl sings is my favorite. It is my promise to Dave and there is alot of meaning hidden in those lines for me and Dave. Pronouncement of Mr. and Mrs. David Roy!!!/Walking out of the church: "Trumpet Voluntary" - This will be played by our friend Nathaniel...a professional trumpet player and highschool music teacher. He offered and really wants to play so we thought hey why not. The version we are planning on using is below. Reception: "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" - one of my bm's will probably singing this at the reception. I have left it up to her what she preforms. |

Bridesmaids
Dresses
Well for those of you who have been following my blog from the beginning I should explain. I'm not sure if I have yet. I'm back to green bm dresses! Originally it was green than I switched to brown and finally I found the perfect green material. So my girls are in green dresses and I'm decorating with ivory and brown accents. My flowers are in ivory and various shades of pink.
The dress at the side is was my girls will be wearing, except in green fabric of course! They chose the long formal dress with a small train over a tea length one I had chosen. I love it either way! To make it less plain we are adding a sash and a sequined clasp. It is beautiful and goes very nicely with my dress. I made a sample wedding at davids bridal, but it is not quite the right color green. Mine is more of a sage green. Nothing quite like it anywhere else. I have looked everywhere for the shade of green we are using. http://www.davidsbridal.com/dyw/details_public.jsp?w=HEGKCMAAAH&v=HFDFACCAAC I can't seem to save the thing so use the above link to see my wedding! I actually have 4 groosmen but I wanted to show my flower girl and there are 2 flower girls not one. Plus I have a junior bridesmaid who will be dressed in the same color as my bms! |
