Online Gift Registry??
Hello,
Are there any nice-looking online gift registries/wish list that FH and I can use . . . There are stores that offer registries, but most stores don't stock all that we would like or charge inflated prices on items sold elsewhere!! |

My Sister's Wedding
So, my sister (missylou) was married to her husband on 10/10/10 and the wedding was absolutely unreal - beyond words. Amy was so relaxed and calm, despite a last minute change of ceremony. The ceremony was gorgeous and the reception was so much fun.
Part of me wants to scrap all my plans and do exactly what she did!!! But I am settling with booking her photographer, who was absolutely amazing!! Please disregard earlier post! I didn't realise how involved they were in the running of the day - it was a huge learning experience. There were some great photos with the photographer too, I can't wait until they come out. What a great night, everyone said it was unlike any wedding they'd ever been too! Congratulations Amy! |

Photographer Etiquette??
So we've got a heap of photographer's samples/rates, and are 90% sure on our guy. He's got 20 years experience, a great folio, experience at our venue, good rates AND he's around from the start of preparations through to the end of the reception.
Just wondering if you have any advise on dealing with photographers? More specifically, is it rude to ask for some photos in the style of another photographer? |

Who comes first?
Whose name is traditionally listed first on the stationery? There isn't any consistency on the sites I'm looking at,
FH thinks the groom's is first but I'm fairly sure it's the bride - just want to be sure ... Please advise! |

It's purple-icious :)
So here is my first attempt at an inspiration board! Not yet completed and I've doubled up on a couple of items that I can't pick between!!!
So, there are three things I'd like to ask :) 1. I love Love LOVE the bridal shoes in top right corner - but no stockists near me - has anyone ever DIY'd their wedding shoes?? 2. I'm not sold on the flowergirl dress - any website suggestions?? 3. Is the cake too gothic looking?? I'd be grateful for any input : ) |

DIY Wedding

BM and I recently test drove a photo booth at a Bridal expo and - despite feeling the severe consequences of BMs birthday bash the previous night - had the time of my life. So much fun!!!
So here are the pics from the day - As you can see, I am feeling spiffy in my mullet wig and ammo necklace!!! Bridesmaid's Dresses too : )
I have two bridesmaid with different shape and I thought it would be a challenge to find a style to suit both - but surprise of surprises, found this lovely dress that will look gorgeous on both and suit the theme perfectly!!!
MOH tried one on today, it is absolutely stunning. The shopowner said she keeps ordering them in but they are flying off the shelves so hopefully some will come in soon so BM can try it on before ordering!! I was originally going to go for the red dress, but seriously reconsidering the switch to the purple "Magenta" for my blue-eyed BMs : ) I am so excited!!! |

Wedding Dress
I am 98% sure I've found the dress!
Found this dress at lovely little shop - same place as my sister! Today I learned that the little bit of weight I've lost so far brought strapless dresses back into the equation :) I've attached a pic of the dress (It's hard to get the full picture, she is a bit twisted in the shot) (Also SUPER thin) but it is fitted to just the right place, the detail is stunning and I love it.
Also found the perfect bridesmaid dresses while we were there so I am excited as anything! Pic number two is the close up of the dress :) |

Here are some dresses that take my fancy : )
I think what I really want is an a-line/princess style dress, structured and detailed top, fitted to the low waist with a smooth transition to the skirt. I think I'd feel more comfortable something over my shoulder or a hi-cut sleeveless. I guess what I'm after is "unassuming sleeves" - might sound a little odd asking for that at the shop!! I seem to be going for skirts that have a diagonal pleat/bunch, but I'm not sure if it'd stay that way throughout the night or require frequent adjusting... I've attached photos of dresses that have caught my eye - I love number 1 and can't wait to try it on . . . bit worried about bunching at the back - we'll see :) I'm going to a dress store with my Mum and sister (missylou) on Saturday - very excited! |

Wedding Reception
My First Decision - The Venue
We have decided on the Venue and it is awesome. The only thing I wanted for a venue was that it be on a mountain. I can't remember why now ... let's just put it down to a Julie Andrews moment.
So, we will be about an hour from Brisbane at Tamborine Gardens Wedding Chapel on Tamborine Mountain. We took a day to drive around popping our heads into places that we'd researched online - we almost skipped out on visiting TGWC because the website is truly, truly awful. Thank god we gave it a shot because it is stunning and we made the decision on the spot. The fountain photo made me laugh because it reminded me so much of the credits to 'Friends', Now that the theme song has been stuck in my head for a good 45 minutes the joke it getting old. Enjoy :) |
