All Things Pretty!
EEEEEEE!!!! So happy to have been chosen by Tashita! :)
So as per the rules here are my 5 top brides- you may notice a very pink and pretty trend occuring in some of them :) Tashasita-(purple) My #1 Favourite Blog and Blogger!! Great ideas, Great person! always supportive- and not only does her blog inspire us but her opinions ,compliments and support on our posts have helped so many of us with our wedding planning!! She is the one bride I log in to check every day! #2 Acowleysoontobe - if a blog could breathe feminine this would be the one! From the AMAZING engagement shoot, the adorable wedding favour chicks , the ivory cages and the adorbale india this is my dream wedding :) #3 Aimee14 & Hotpink- Equally awesome and fabulous and the two blogs responsible for making me realize that ultra feminine is ultra fab !! Before them I kept trying to play down the pink in my wedding and was worried that my froufrou-ness would overwhelm everyone.. after drooling over their pretty decisions I embraced my girliness :) # 4- Sarahdarling- need I say more?? I loved every detail of her wedding and her blog- especially the quirky choices! The cake topper was a prime winning moment in my eyes! In that moment I wished I had been a little braver and allowed my odd side to shine through a bit more in my own wedding :) the love for her Hubby shined through in ever post too - She is a bride that I thought of all day on her big day and was truly happy for! #5 - I am torn on this final one. SOOO many brides have inspired me or been truly helpful such as foreverstartsnow, rachelw849, cupcakesforbreakfast, and banapants. I am sure I am forgetting some and I feel horrible about that!!! You are all so wonderful! 5 Things About Me: 1) without a doubt I could survive on chocolate alone 2) I was a bride that got engaged with full intentions of losing a ridiculous amount of weight before my wedding - 1.5 years later only down 10 pounds.. c'est la vie i guess :) 3)Although I have embraced Toronto as my home for the past 3 years I will always be a maritimer at heart and miss the east coast! 4)I am addicted to all things wedding and may start a Wedding Planner Anonymous meeting after July 2nd-- or wait.. after August 15th since I know I will stay on here long enough to see Tashasitas wedding play out :) 5)I am one of those brides that thinks I am marrying the best man ever created :) |

DIY Wedding
Some odds and ends I have been meaning to share :)
Here are a few of our latest finds and projects :)
THE CARD HOLDER!! I am so impressed with this..one- because its cute AND two- Becasue it was a Brett find!! Made me so proud :) ITs cute when he sees things through my eyes! I know a lot of people will be concerned with how open it is but its only our closest friends and family at the wedding so we feel we can trust them not to take the cards :) The second picture is the poem that will now go with our "guest book Jug" we decided against having a traditional guest book and instead I am making a bunch of little cards that you can see in picture 4, 6 and 7. and i will add those to a scrapbook :) I will post a picture of the jug after I am finished it. The 3rd and 5 picture show the windows and the vase that i antiqued for the seating chart! |

Our Ceremony
The wording for our ceremony
We came across this ceremony a long, long time ago from one of the brides on here and we took it and made it our own.. adding some things and taking away alot.. and then our pastor added some things as well. I still think I want to add the "These Hands" poem somewhere but I am not sure where it would work??
BRETT AND JEANETTE July 2nd 2010 Good afternoon, and welcome to this truly happy occasion. We are here today to celebrate a great moment in the lives of Brett Tudor Jenkins and Jeanette Dawn Moore, to give recognition to the worth and beauty of love, and to add our best wishes to the words which shall unite them in marriage. We come together not to mark the start of a relationship, but to acknowledge and strengthen a bond that already exists. This day is made possible not only because of your love for each other, but through the grace and support of your family and friends. It is our hope that your fulfillment and joy in each other and in yourselves will increase with every passing year. Marriage should not be entered into by anyone lightly or thoughtlessly, but thoughtfully, reverently and in the presence of God. Into this holy estate these two persons now desire to enter, therefore, if anyone can show any just cause as to why they may not lawfully be joined together, let them now declare it or forever hold their peace. Now I ask you both, before God- the searcher of all hearts, that if either of you know of any reason why you may not lawfully be united in marriage you confess it now. For be assured that any that are joined together other than as Gods Word allow are not united by the lord, neither is their marriage blessed. Jeanette and Brett have come to love each other deeply and sincerely. They now wish to unite their lives. In this ceremony they dedicate themselves to the happiness and well-being of each other. The union of husband and wife in heart, body, and mind is intended for their mutual joy; for the help and comfort given to one another in prosperity and adversity. (Everyone Sits) Who gives blessing for this woman to be married to this man? GARY & MOM: WE DO (To be read by David) This wedding is a celebration of the joy and the beauty of life. Love endures only when the lovers love many things together, and not merely each other. Love is what brought them together; love is what will keep them whole. Loving another can deepen your sense of connected-ness to all of life. The intimacy and the surprises of that experience are a form of reverence and wholeness. When we love, we see things other people do not see. We see beneath the surface, to the qualities which make our beloved special and unique. To see with loving eyes, is to know inner beauty. And to be loved is to be seen, and known, as we are known to no other. One who loves us, gives us a unique gift; a piece of ourselves, but a piece that only they can give us. Your relationship will take more than love. It will take trust, to know in your hearts that you want only the best for each other. Dedication, to stay open to one another, to learn and grow, even when it is difficult to do so. And faith, to go forward together without knowing what the future holds for you both. While love is our natural state of being, these other qualities are not as easy to come by. They are not a destination, but a journey. The true art of married life is in this- an inner spiritual journey. It is a mutual enrichment, a give and take between two personalities, a mingling of two endowments which diminishes neither, but enhances both. Listen now to what the scripture teaches us: Christ said: “As God has loved me, so have I loved you: continue in my love. If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love. This is my commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you.” St John Said: “Beloved, Let us love one another; for love is of God; and everyone that loves is born of God. Anyone who loves not knows not God; for God is love.” St Paul said: “Love is patient, love is kind; love seeks not her own, Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” Declaration of Consent Brett, do you promise to commit your love to Jeanette; to respect her individuality; to go through life’s changes; and to nurture and strengthen the love between you; to share your life with her, and do you pledge that you will love, honour and tenderly care for her in all the varying circumstances of your lives? BRETT: “I do.” Jeanette, do you promise to commit your love to Brett; to respect his individuality; to go through life’s changes; to nurture and strengthen the love between you; to share your life with him, and do you pledge that you will love, honour and care for him in tenderness through all the varying circumstances of your lives? JEANETTE: “I do.” The Marriage Vows/ Exchange of Rings: Having this love in your hearts, you have chosen to seal your vows by the giving and receiving of rings. May I have your rings please? (Take rings). The best man will then give the ring to the minister. From the earliest times, the circle has been a symbol of completeness. It is unbroken and never-ending much like Jeanette and Bretts’ committed love. Rings are made precious by our wearing of them. They become us; they reflect us. They are a symbol of our love, and of the words that you speak today. May these rings be, from this day forward, your most treasured adornment, and may the love they symbolize, be your most precious possession. As you wear these rings, may they be constant reminders of these glad promises you are making today. Brett, Do you give this ring in token that you will keep this convenant and perform these vows? Brett: I do Brett, please repeat after me: With this ring, I give to you my promise that from this day forward you will not walk alone.. May God bless you always. May we walk together through all things. May my heart be your shelter And my arms be your home. May you feel deeply loved, for indeed you are. May you always see your innocence in my eyes. With this ring,I give you my heart. I have no greater gift to give. I promise I will do my best. I will always try. I feel honored to call you my wife. I feel blessed to call you mine. May we feel this joy forever. Jeanette, Do you give this ring in token that you will keep this convenant and perform these vows? Jeanette: I do Jeanette, please repeat after me: With this ring, I give to you my promise that from this day forward you will not walk alone.. I feel honored to call you my husband. I feel blessed to call you mine. May we feel this joy forever. I’d now like to ask all of you to pray with me: (Steven says prayer) The Benediction :The Lord bless you and keep you, the lords face shine upon you, and be gracious to you, The lords countenance be upon you, and give you peace. Jeanette and Brett from this moment forward you will never be alone. You will carry with you always the love of another person, giving you a completeness and renewed lightness. May your life together be immersed in love and in excitement. May it deepen your knowledge of each other and of existence. May you strive to enrich each other and yourselves in every possible way. As you, Jeanette and Brett, have consented together in wedlock and have pledged your troth to each other in the sight of God and in the presence of this company and have confirmed the same by the joining of hands and the giving and receiving of rings: now in the name of the Creator, Preserver and Redeemer I pronounce you husband and wife. Amen! Whosoever God has joined together let not anyone put asunder You may now Kiss the Bride!!! Go now, hand in hand, forever in each others hearts. Ladies and gentlemen, it is my honour to be the first to introduce to you, Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins! |
