Flip Flop Favors
So I have started this... and I ran out of thick ribbon so not finished all of them yet.
I used $1 flip flops from Michaels (brown and turquoise), thick ribbon to keep the flip flops together and made the sizing tags from some Michaels paper. The flip flops originally came with their own tags to keep them together but they were not nice at all so I took them off. I just need to get a basket/bucket to put them in for the wedding. C. |

Veil .... check!
I was into Michael's last night and I picked up some flip flops for favors and also my veil!
I wasn't going to wear a veil at first, but I tried my friends on and well I wanted one...but I didn't want to pay the bridal store price (well not that I didn't want to I couldn't I am a broke student!) Last night I was in the wedding aisle at Michael's and I found my veil for $7 (Cdn). its a two tiered, ivory simple veil, which is what I was looking for. Can't believe I found it for $7, I am very happy with this find! Also I found $1 flip flops at Michaels in turquoise and brown!!! I bought almost all of them in the store!! Can't believe they were so cheap! I know I can get them online but I would have to pay in US$ plus shipping, plus customs/duty. So I saved big time. So I left Michaels with lots of stuff and I think the total was $40. C. |

DIY Embossed Napkins
So I forgot to write that I got my personalized stamp from Simon Stamps and it is awesome! It is exactly what I ordered and it was only $10 !! And I got it in about a week (and thats delivery to Canada!).
So moving on.... I was at the dollar store yesterday (A Buck or Two) and they are renovating so everything is 60% off if you pay cash! I picked up some bachelorette party things, and also some brown napkins. I was playing around tonight with my heat gun, stamps and embossing powder....and came up with some cute napkins for the cake table and candy buffet! Cheap cheap cheap and easy to make! I took some pics through my steps.... Its pretty easy though, same as heat embossing anything, stamp the napkin, pour over the powder, remove excess powder, and set with heat! I love them! Can't believe they turned out so well! C. |

After months of thinking it over...
...I bought a new camera!
I have been thinking this over for almost a year now. I wanted to upgrade to a DSLR camera, but couldn't afford one right now.
An offer came along this week that I couldn't pass up! A friend of mine was selling their Canon Rebel XT for a great price because they were upgrading to a different model, and I bought it! I am so excited to get some great shots! Yay! C. |

My MOH is preggo!
Very exciting times!
This post is not about omg, what am I going to do because my moh is pregnant, it is about how excited I am that she is pregnant!
My moh has been trying to get pregnant since she got married last year, and she just found out she is 6 weeks pregnant!! I am so excited because I have never had such a close friend having a baby before! So excited for my moh and her husband who are both very close friends of myself and my fh (they are both in our wedding). She will be 27 weeks when we get married, but the best thing is, she is the moh so she can go in any kind of dress and it will still look good! The picture is from Monday, she took a pregnancy test and called me and was like "Its positive!", so then I bought her a test on my way home, and her mom bought her one as well. Had to do three to make sure...lol. It just reminds me that there are so many other more important things going on in life than our wedding, and it also makes me realize how much I want a family as well!! C. |

Purchased my wedding band tonight!
I have posted a pic of the band and my ering. To tell you the truth, I didn't care much about the wedding band. I wanted something simple and plain. I thought I wanted one with diamonds but when I tried them on I didn't like them. The one I picked has the same style band as my ering, so it matches and fits well. It isn't round on top like the normal ones, its flat. FH has yet to decide on a band. Can't believe he is being so picky! He is after trying on every band in the city and still cannot commit to one he wants. But we have lots of time so he can take his time and choose. One more thing to mark off my list! C. |

Personalized Rubber Stamp
I have been looking for a while now for a personalized rummber stamp for us to have to use for favor tags, and some other things.
I was just looking for a stamp with our names and dates on it, not our monogram. I purchased one today with Simon Stamps, and it was $10. Looking forward to getting it, I will post pics of the stamp and how it is when I get it! C. |

BM Sashes Arrived!
I received my bm sashes today!
I ordered these sashes from Stitch Master last month and I LOVE them!
I ordered three brown and one turquoise. The colors are exactly what I wanted and the price was great! I got the girls the 90 inch sashes so they wouldn't be to long with the short dresses. I think the dresses will look great with these! My moh is wearing a chocolate colored dress and she gets the turquoise sash, and the rest of the ladies are wearing turquoise, so they get a brown sash. And I think I am going to order one for my flower girl as well so she looks like the girls. So excited they are the right color!! NWR Sad day in Newfoundland
Helicopter Crash
This has nothing to do with wedding planning, but has a lot to do with Newfoundlanders.
This morning a helicopter crashed off the shore of Newfoundland with a crew of workers going to the offshore oil rigs. The helicopter is owned and operated by Cougar. There were 18 on board, one deceased has been recovered and one survivor has been found. The rest are currently unaccounted for. There are 16 missing, and both life boats have been found but are empty. The are searching for survivors now and through the night. So sad, everyone around St. John's today were so gloomy, and its heartbreaking to think of their families and friends. I'm almost sick to my stomach. Just my little post to let the families and friends know we are all thinking about them and praying for them during this hard time. C. How to keep aisle runner in place?
I am planning on having a simple aisle runner at the ceremony which is taking place in a church with carpet.
I am just getting the cheap wilton ( i think its a wilton one, the cheap one in walmart), anyways, I am getting this one, and wondering if I have it on the carpet, will my dress drag the aisle runner down the aisle with me? lol Wouldn't want that to happen. Or do they usually stay in place on carpet? I was wondering if their was anything to kind of stick it to the floor...lol Thanks! C. |
