Ask a Question
Fake flowers vs. The real thing??

Hey Yall,

I was wondering what your thoughts are on fake flowers vs real flowers. I'm not really partial to real or fake flowers... I just want a bouquet that is going to stand up to the trials of "the day"... at the same point is having a silk flower bouquet cheesy?

We aren't having any other flowers in our decorations besides the bridal party (bridesmaids bouquets, boutonnieres) our table decorations are going to be a mix of lanterns and peacock feathers. So with that said, should I spring for the more delicate real thing or go with the silks???

My cousin recently got married and they did a combination of real and fake flowers. All the boutonnieres, BM bouquets, and floral decorations were fake flowers. The bride's bouquet and the flowers in her hair were the only ones that were real. It was actually really hard to tell the real from the fake and it turned out very nice.

Whatever your budget may allow. Silk will last forever.  It even looks nice if mixed when the flowers dry. I like silk, because it's really reasonable.

I'm thinking my bouquet and FH's bout. will be real (it comes with the package) but my MOH and his best man will have fake.  Much cheaper.  I helped make my BF's bouquets for her bridal party and they turned out really nice.

I am using latex flowers for my wedding. They look and feel real and cost about the same as real, but they will last forever. I wanted something that no one could tell [cause I just hate the way silk ones look] so many look so cheap.

So I figured if I was going to spend the money, I might as well buy the latex ones. I love them.
