Who's Getting Fit and Trim?
Hello Ladies!
Sooo... I've joined the gym and started a healthy eating plan in the attempt to lose those stubborn love handles before the big day! I think I might be in the same boat as a lot of other people... That is: I feel comfortable with my body (about a 6 or 7/10) but I know if I put in the extra effort now I can feel like a 10/10! So Ill list in dot points what Ive done! 6 smaller meals (breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner and snack) throughout the day with the biggest being breakfast containing wholegrain (because I need the fibre!) Reducing serving sizes, incorporating healthy snacks in between as a fix and increasing the amount of protein in those meals while reducing carbs.... White meat, fish, salad, veggies, fruit and basmati rice are gods. LOTS of water.. I take a 1.5 litre bottle of water to work with me, which is about 0.4 US Gallons (I think) and aim to drink small amounts throughout the whole day till Im finished Multi vitamins, Although Im eating healthy and its full of fruit and veggies sometimes I feel Im not getting all the nutrients I need (e.g. calcium and iron) so I take a basic multi vitamin daily Q silica, not exactly for health but it promotes healthy skin, hair and nails... I bought this in a gel form which has a horrible, horrible, horrible gritty texture (like fine sand) but you mix it with juice or water or cordial and its bearable Fish oil tablets, again just to be healthy nothing to do with losing weight Im doing 45mins-1hr of walking/running/interval/cycling in the morning (basically my cardio) to get my heart rate up (6 days a week) 1hr-2hrs of resistance training in the afternoon (5 days a week) at the gym doing classes and using equipment Stretching! 10 min before exercise and cooling down 10 mins after! Im 173cm (roughly 5'8") 63 Kilos (roughly 140 pounds) and my goal weight is 54 Kilos (roughly 120 pounds) and I have 5 months till the wedding to do it What are you ladies doing to lose some weight or tone up before the big day? Any tips and tricks you would like to share? |

Wedding shoes
Wedding Shoes
My shoes arrived after ordering them over the internet! I knew my size and they are a perfect fit!
I love love love them. High, white leather and I can wear them after the wedding as a normal pair of white shoes. As there will be plenty of dancing I will also be buying a pair of flat shoes for when I tear up the dance floor! The brand is Tony Bianco the make is caberet the colour is white pearl and I'm pretty sure they are an Australian brand. |

6 Months
Getting closer!
So with 6 months to go, I thought Id pull my finger out and start getting a few things accomplished. Which I have!
=o) GOOD THINGS I have found and bought my dress, Coaxed the future husband into suit shopping and managed to find fantastic suits for the groomsmen from David Jones (I forget the brand but I will have to post it up once I remember), Getting veil made, Bought my bridesmaid dresses, Bought my shoes, Booked the reception venue, Booked the ceremony venue, Booked the videographer, Booked the photographer, Booked my flowers/florist, Booked hairdresser (and found my style) Booked transportation, Booked makeup, Gifts for Bridesmaids and Groomsmen sorted but not bought. Table decorations, Cake (which Ive picked) MC and DJ are included in our reception package. BAD THINGS Honeymoon Im not a millionaire; I have a mortgage and bills and cannot afford to go to where I would love to go (Bora Bora) so we are still in the decision process. The mother in law I dont know how many times I need to tell her NO! Im not going with black and silver for the theme, so stop saying it Invitations Havent started them yet! Bonbonniere Ridiculously shitty crap at stupid prices (also we have 200-250 people coming) Flowergirl dresses and Pageboy suits Still looking. Wedding rings Probably getting them made. Other small bits and pieces are also still being done. (Searching for jewellery, chairs for ceremony, lingerie, card box, entertainment etc.) Please tell me if Ive missed anything! |

Bridesmaids
I Bought My Bridemaid Dresses!
Walking into a shop one afternoon to buy a bronze jacket, a hint of dusty pink caught my attention.
Dresse... Subtle dusty pink... 3... On sale... All small.... All chiffon...... No way. Something had to be wrong. Either they were ripped up around the zipper, or the chiffon thread was pulled somewhere, or maybe the style of the dress was a smaller make and thats why there were three smalls lefts. Snatched all three up took them into the change room with me. Perfect fit! Bought them there and then! I'm thinking of changing the beading around the top to bigger diamonte teardrop stud looking beads because the beadwork on it looks a little tacky the way it is. I'm still in shock that it was that easy! They fit on two of my bridemaids (and they love them thank god) and the third is trying hers on at the end of this month! |

Ask a Question
What and Where can I find this veil
I know what sort of veil I would like to try with my dress but unfortunately the wedding place I got my dress from doesnt carry Pronovias veils and doesnt have a veil that is similar. They can order one in for me but with no refund if it doesnt go with my dress of if I dont like it.
I went around my area and basically all the wedding shops dont have a similar veil. Boo! So I was wondering if anyone knew the name of this veil of even better a website that has pronovias veils or San Patrick veils (as their official sites do not have an accessory collection) Or even if anyone knew of a very similar veil from another designer or a website. I need all the help I can get!!! Note: My dress is the Galante from Pronovias 2011 collection |

Wedding Dress
Finally!
I always thought that when my wedding day would come around I would wear the typical princess typed poufy dress that every little girl dreams of. Strapless and shimmering I would have felt like Cinderella at the ball.
So one day at my aunties house I decided to try on my cousins wedding dress. The ball gown, princess style did absolutely nothing for me. I looked horrid and the thing weighed a tonne! 3 wedding expos, 4 wedding shops, 15 magazines, hundreds of pages, thousands of styles. NOTHING. I didnt like a single one so I didnt try any. Finally a magazine came out with an additional smaller gown magazine included. Flick. Flick. Flick. OH MA GAWD. Staring at me from one of the pages was this sophisticated looking model in an absolutely gorgeous dress. It screamed NICKIE. She was wearing the Pronovias Galante. I knew it was the one. I booked an appointment and tried the sample dress, which was a bit big but we got the general idea. It was perfect. It arrived last week! Im going in this Saturday morning to make sure everything is okay and to try it on. Wish me luck! |

A bit about me
My name is Nickie. Im 23 Years old and I live in Wollongong (which is an hour south of Sydney) Australia.
My finance (Liam) and I have been together for over 5 years and Im so happy that we are finally getting married! Im bubbly, silly, witty and a true romantic. I LOVE love. Liam is the least romantic person I have ever met, rarely silly and very down to earth. We bring out the best in eachother and level out the positives and negatives in our personalities. Liam is truely the love of my life... I cannot live without him. =o) |

The Proposal
That little white box
My fiance (Liam) and I met in 2005 in my final year of high school. I was completing my HSC and he was working full time as a kitchen cabinet maker.
He was the boy that trouble followed, whom all the girls liked with his flash car and buckets of friends. I was the weird, smart girl. Rarely wore makeup and had protective parents. After a few months of dating, Liam asked me to be his girlfriend *giggles* on the 5th November 2005 (to become our wedding date 6 years later) Being together for so long we knew we would eventually get married so we did the whole walk by the jewelery store and try on a few rings every so often. Till the day I found the ring which turned me into a blubbering mess. We bought our first house together in June 2009 and moved in. A few months went by and randomly on the 21st November I was told we would be going out for dinner. After getting ready and walking out the front of our house a limo pulled up! Liam had booked dinner at centrepoint tower in Sydney. We arrived and had a beautiful dinner and enjoyed the fantasic 360 degree views of Sydney compliments of the revolving restaurant. After desert Liam put his hands on the table holding that little white box looking directly at me. I was speechless and covered my mouth. He was speechless and couldnt get the words out. I cried a little, he cried a little and finally he whispered the words "Nickie. Will you marry me?" I noded. still unable to speak. He took out the ring and put it on my finger. We hugged and kissed. It was perfect. |
