Vendor Review
Los Angeles Vendors Reviewed

I have chosen to highlight the incredible vendors I worked with and leave out the ones that I would never recommend. If you are an LA bride and want to ask me a question about a particular vendor involving flowers, rentals and/or catering or any other aspect [I may have dealt with them] but for the sake of not turning this into a bashfest which is not my style, I will simply not mention the vendors that I was less than pleased with and focus on the ones that I highly recommend!

1. Hair & Make-up

Yana Beauty Studio- yanabeautystudio.com / (323) 630-5645

Yana is not only incredible at what she does but is always professional and has a very calming and sweet demeanor that is just what every bride needs on wedding day. Despite having to deal with a few bitchy bmaids, she held her composure and always brought me back to reality and helped to keep me calm (so needed on day of). Yana and her assistants are high class, high quality and real artists. I think she is worth every penny as she is determined to make you feel like the most beautiful bride ever. I feel like she did a wonderful job and went above and beyond what i expected to make everyone (8 women!) happy. She even airbrushed every person and gave them all lashes (not originally what I paid for). I highly recommend working with her. She also shoots for a TLC show called Here Comes The Bride which centers around hair/make-up. If you do the show, she does offer a small discount. LOVE HER!!

2. Photo & Video

Visual Masterpiece- www.visualmasterpiece.com

I don't even know where to start with these guys! They are incredible at what they do and they are sweet and kind to work with. Rebecka and Michael are a husband and wife team that shot our STD, our engagement video that was played at the wedding, our wedding, and our E-pics. You can see all of their work posted throughout my blog (waiting for the wedding shots and video). They are masters at what they do and bring with them a sincere caring spirit that makes you comfortable and at ease. I would not have wanted anyone else to spend so much time with and they were worth the investment for sure! They travel, are award winning videographers, and worth a call. They are in the Orange County area and support all of California and beyond. And beyond their job description, Rebecka even took the time to pray with me when I asked her to on wedding day to help relieve some stress. I think it's so important to hire professionals that will support you and this team does! They will do anything and everything to get the shot and our guests even commented that they were impressed by their hard work and their ability to be EVERYWHERE at once during the wedding. :) They are just simply incredible.

3. The Dress

Brides By Liza- bridesbyliza.us or 310.652.2218

This little store in Beverly Hills is exactly what a bride like me who tried on over 100 dresses and didn't think there was anything out there for me afterall needed. I found this store in passing and when I walked in I wasn't even considering a custom made gown. After chatting with the salesperson, Ani and realizing that I had options I agreed to try on a few custom samples and I never looked back. I was going to have a custom dress. The whole experience was very positive. I was involved in the process and had about 6-7 fittings and that was fun for me. I also like knowing that my dress was local and that there wouldn't be any glitches in shipment from China. Several times, I changed my mind about a certain cut or style and they were able to accomodate me easily since it was being made from scratch. On top of that they were able to re-do the dress several times as my weight changed :) Overall, these ladies are accomodating, friendly and always went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy and comfortable and satisfied. I recommend them 100%.

4. Cake

Cake Crumbs- 818.501.3918 or cakecrumbs.com

John and Susan (owners) are a pleasure to work with. Cake was an important aspect to Matt and we tried many cakes before we were recommended to Cake Crumbs. This cake is DELICIOUS!! It's the best cake we tried and their quality and work ethic is flawless. They worked within our budget to give us our dream cake and they were the easiest vendors to work with. They are great with follow-up and in a stressful time, I knew that at least our cake would be amazing! John and Susan are sweet, calming, professional and their product is fresh and beautiful! I highly recommend them to everyone and will use them the next time we need a fabulous cake! Oh, and try the apricot filling with yellow cake (it's fantastic!!).

5. Invitations

Creative Works Designs- 818.556.6264 or www.creativeworksdesigns.com

Sherrie is amazing at what she does and her turn-around time is great! She did my beautiful Save The Date cards as well as our wedding invites. She is easy to work with, listens well, helps with ideas and really keeps budget in mind when helping her clients determine what will be the best options within that range! I really enjoyed working with her and her invites got rave reviews from our guests. She does work with out of state brides and delivers. I highly recommend her.

6. Coordinator

Jessi Kaufman (recently joined forces with Just Chic Events) can be reached at 310-713-0807.

We hired Jessi as a Day Of Coordinator and she really started relieving my stress at least a month ahead of time. She is sweet, calming and very professional. She has amazing turn-around time and always responds quickly and is helpful! She sent me ideas when I needed them, suggested alternative options when the time came, managed me, our families and the day with ease (at least that's how it appeared to me) and that's what counts!! Jessi was a joy to work with and was my voice at the end of the planning process when i just couldn't negotiate and deal with planning anymore. The wedding day would not have flowed without her. She was there every step of the way making sure that the day was smooth and seamless and also managed the rehearsal with confidence and ease. I really enjoyed working with Jessi and think that she would be a great teammate to any bride out there looking for some last minute help or assistance with planning from day one...

7. Venue

Boulevard 3 -boulevard3.com

Even though this is not a typical wedding banquet hall, these guys deserve an honorable mention for being AMAZING to us. If nothing else, if you are in LA go here and have a drink (they are a nightclub) and a beautiful one at that!! The drinks are fantastic, using fresh squeezed juice for every drink and the staff is beautiful and fun! In terms of wedding venue, they blessed us beyond words, the staff worked all hours of the morning and night to make sure everything was built, lit correctly, production items were working, equipment was set-up, etc etc. Our wedding would not have been as unique if not for this space whcih allowed us to have hanging performers (they do things like this during nightclub hours too), a spectacular sound system, uplighting/spotlighting, and so much more! Check this place out!

ok, gals happy planning to all of you!!

That is so excellent Nidal! Can you tell me one thing? The dancers you had for the wedding on the ceilings, how did your venue comply to that?  Did they included that in their package deal? Just wondering, because venues up here (North) Sacramento is not having it!  I saw that your dancers had their material drops on their ceilings??? Just curious. The mose emaculant wedding I have ever seen. Congratulations again!

Hey Rhonda- Thank you!! The venue that we had is actually a club here in Hollywood that is set up already with a hoist system and the ceiling area is open to allow them to hook their drapings into the "hook thing" and then do their show. So we actually didn't have to have any special set-up that we brought in personally to make the aerial show happen. It wasn't included in the venue, we hired and piad the aerialists independantly although they have done shows at the venue before (in a nightclub setting). So yes, most venues aren't going to allow this from their drop ceilings (probably won't hold and would require large insurance policy in place) but since Boulevard 3 is set up for these types of entertainment shows, it wasn't an issue.

mrmrskaz- are you in los angeles?? I don't have recommendations in florida and I honeslty wouldn't really recommend the person i eventually went with for flowers although I do think that their final ceremony/reception work was gorgeous!! I gotta give them props there, but the road to get there was long and tough and our bouquets/bouts were a disaster. I interviewed other florists that i loved but i would hate to give a reco for someone I loved in interviews but didn't actually see their final product. Guess I'm not really helping here...sorry.

mrmrskaz- lol! I interviewed a few people and wound up going with a vendor that I think did a good job in the end but I wouldn't recommend them based on the battle it was in the process and there were aspects that they just wouldn't listen to no matter what (bouquets and bout were 100% opposite of what we asked for) and we had to change our entire vision cause what they kept promising and then delivering were not matching up. So although I did wind up loving the centerpieces and the ceremony pieces and the price was fair, I don't think it's worth the pain and still there were things even with ceremony that i paid for that weren't there...

However, I did chat with Art from Design by Ashley @ 818 242 1001 and met with him and i loved him and their work is beautfiul. I don't have expereince going through an entire wedding with him or even his finished product but he may be worth sitting with to see what he can do for you. I wound up choosing our other flower designer cause she came recommended (whoops), but he was my other choice. sorry, wish i could be more help here!!

thank you Nidhal I know another bride who is also telling me to go with Design by Ashley..... the other day I printed out all the florist in Glendale.. So I'll be going and checking them all out and I'll make sure to go to Ash before anywhere else...it is so hard to find good work that aren't going to charge so much..... and I totally hate when you go and speak to them .. and they just do not want to listen to what you want and they say what they want and what they think will look nice..... its like hello I am paying you you should be doing what I want not what you want.
